dark clouds loomed in the sky, the young male swearing under his breath as he stepped into a puddle, soaking the front of his white converse. the rain fell in light splashes, barely enough for hyunjin to feel with his hood over his head of hair. he trudged along the path in haste, realising that minho had made him late to his meet up with a particular "friend" if his.

when he finally made it, he found yugyeom in the same spot he had stood last time, and cigarette dangling between his lips as he breathed in the toxic substance. hyunjin was never one for smoking; the taste and smell made him gag and his lungs felt like they were going to erupt the first time he tried it. though it was nothing compared to what he did now, but it made him feel happy.

"nice of you to finally drop by," yugyeom said, annoyance evident in his voice. he obviously didn't like to be kept waiting, especially not when it looked like it was about to rain. hyunjin could relate; he had washed his hair this morning, and he did not want to have to wash it again.

hyunjin sighed, leaning his back against the opposite wall of the alley. "well? have you got it?" the younger male pressed, not liking to wait either. he wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible, especially as he thought minho was probably going to follow him here if he wasn't quick.

yugyeom scoffed. "y'know, you really haven't changed hyunjin," he said, taking a step forward, towards the other. "you're still the same scared little kid you were back then who had no idea what he was doing." the older male reached into his bag, pulling out a fairly small packet filled with tablets. "now, my money." he held out his other hand to hyunjin.

hyunjin took a short deep breath, reaching into his pocket to pull out a very small wad of cash. it only amounted to 60,000 won (which is just under £40, which is about $50), but it was enough to hurt the bank for a while. he held the money in his hand, contemplating on whether this was what he wanted or not. he had a choice. he could stop this all right here, he could run back to minho and accept his apology.

he made his choice.

was it the right one?

hyunjin took the packet into his hands, yugyeom counting through the money before pocketing it. "well it was nice doing business with you," the older said nonchalantly, giving hyunjin a small wave before making his way back to the path. however, he was stopped by a certain person in his way, who stared at them both in disbelief.

hyunjin looked up to see who it was, quickly stuffing the packet into his bag, his face shocked by the sudden appearance. "seungmin? what are you doing here?" yugyeom asked, ending it with a nervous laugh. he took a step forward, placing a hand on seungmin's shoulder, but the younger shook it off, not daring to look up at the two.

"hyunjin, you told me you stopped. you said you stopped," seungmin said in a low voice, his tone faltering at the end as he felt tears prick at his eyes. he did his best to blink them away, not wanting to let the idiocy of the two people in front of him to make him break. he looked up at the two, his eyes wet and slightly red. yugyeom took another step towards the male, trying to talk him down, but seungmin was having none of it. instead, he left the two in the alley, running off before they could stop him.

minho bows to his teacher, thanking him before leaving the building. it was dark out now, the chilly autumn breeze brushing over him as he shivered slightly. he made his way quickly to his car, unlocking it and opening the passenger door and putting the books and papers down on the seat with a sigh. it seemed he had more to catch up on than he thought, and he could sense the sleepless nights coming up in the near future.

with a yawn, minho closed the door, stretching his arms up in the air. "not today," he said quietly to himself, deciding that tonight he would sleep. as he walking around the car to the other side, the sound of sobbing filled his ears. he looked over towards one of the trees, a person wearing a baby blue hoodie with the hood pulled over their head sat with their legs hugged tightly to their chest. it was the same tree that hyunjin sat at last time, and minho couldn't stop himself.

he ran over to the person, peering around the tree. "hyunjin?" he called out with a light tone, stopping just behind the person. however, when they turned around, he noticed it wasn't hyunjin, but they still looked familiar. "oh, sorry, i thought you were someone else," minho quickly said, turning tale and beginning to walk back to his car awkwardly.

"hey," the sobbing boy called out, stopping minho in his tracks and making him turn back to face him. "you're hyunjin's boyfriend, right?" he asked, making minho confused. but soon he put the pieces together. the party. that's where he had seen the male before. he was hyunjin's ex boyfriend from high school.

minho sighed. "not exactly," he said, deciding to walk back and sit down next to the boy, his legs crossed with his hand resting in his lap. "we uh, we had a disagreement, i guess," he explained, not really taking any mind of the fact that hyunjin had told his ex they were together together. "i really messed up this time." he sighed.

seungmin placed his hand on the older's shoulder, showing him a small smile. "it takes two to tango. it's not all your fault," he said, looking back down at the ground as he felt tears prick at his eyes once again. "i wish someone had told me that back then," he said, more to himself than minho, but he still heard him just the same.

minho kept his eyes trained on the younger. "if you uh, if you don't mind me asking, why were you upset?" he asked. despite not knowing the male very well, he thought it was only polite to ask him, especially if he needed someone to talk about it. however, it only made seungmin sob louder. "you don't have to say anything if you don't want to," minho said hurriedly, hopefully to rectify his mistake. "i'm sorry i shouldn't have—"

"it's okay, minho," seungmin said, stopping him from rambling any more. "i'll tell you..."

"i'll tell you everything."
