minho huffed as he finally reached the campus, his legs aching from the long walk. it was six pm, seeing as he had stopped several times out of tiredness. he vowed to himself that he would never walk anywhere again, even if it only took him five minutes.
he made his way to the car park in order to get into his own car and drive home, but the small sobs of another person stopped him in his tracks. he turned over to the birch tree that stood next to the car park, seeing someone sitting on the other side. minho looked all around him, but the only person there was sat under the tree.
he sighed, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jacket and walking over to the person. as he walked around the tree, he finally saw who it was, and he regretted being so nosey.
it was hyunjin.
the male looked up at minho, a surprised look on his face. "minho... what are you doing here?" hyunjin asked timidly, wiping his teary eyes. he couldn't imagine how much of a state he must have looked in that moment. he cleared his throat before looking back up at the older.
minho gulped. why was he still standing there? he had to think of something to say to the boy. "i uh... i just heard someone crying... so i came to help," he said, clearing his throat afterwards.
hyunjin nodded, looking down at the ground. "i guess you aren't so bad after all," he mumbled, barely audible for minho to hear.
"i uh," minho sat down next to hyunjin, not daring to look over at the younger male. "i wanted to apologise as well. i let my emotions get the better of me."
the blonde hummed, looking over at minho. "let's be friends," he said with a bright smile, making minho look up to meet his eyes. he nodded after a moment of thought, deciding to look up at the sky.
"i forgot how beautiful the stars looked," minho spoke, hyunjin just listening intently. "i used to lay out in the garden with my little sister, and just look up at the stars until she fell asleep." he sighed, looking down at his hands.
hyunjin had noticed the tears escaping minho's eyes before he had, and reached over to take his hand, squeezing it tightly. "it's okay," he said, "i'm here for you."
minho nodded, wiping his stained cheeks with a nervous laugh. he stood up from the tree, turning back to the younger. "i've gotta go home, or she'll worry. she can't sleep without seeing me home first," he explained, referring to his sister.
hyunjin nodded to the male, standing up to meet his eyes. they were a deep chestnut colour, and the blonde knew he could get lost in those eyes. but minho didn't move either; he was content with just staring at hyunjin's pretty face. it wasn't until hyunjin leant closer to minho that he then backed off.
the older cleared his throat once again and rushed off to his car, not bothering to wave goodbye to the other.
hyunjin sighed as he watched him go, making his way back up to his dorm room.
