Hospital;
Suzie's POV;

My 'rescuer,' and I use the term lightly, considering in my newly formulated opinion, all men were the same; only out to get what they wanted and nothing much else, pulled in to a parking space near the entrance to the ER and climbed out from behind the wheel.

Racing around to my side as I slid out of the seat and stood to my feet; where I almost fell over from the shooting pain that coursed through my ankle. Against my own will, I had to take his support as he wrapped a strong and heavily tattooed arm around my waist and took the majority of my weight.

"You know I really can do this myself," I grumped not wanting to take any kind of help from anyone that even closely resembled the male gender.

"Ok go ahead," He said letting me go and I stumbled a few steps before nearly falling on my face once again. "Didn't think so...now will you just take my support?" He questioned catching me just before I hit the deck. "And stop being so insufferable?"

"Insufferable...? You don't even know me and yet you presume that it is perfectly fine to form an opinion of me?" I glared up in to his eyes as they looked back in to my own.

"Just calling it as I see it sugar,"

"What did you just call me? You do not know me well enough to be giving me cute little nicknames that I am sure have most women fall at your feet!" I complained.

"Wow you really are feisty..." He chuckled as we stepped over the threshold that led in to the waiting room of the ER.

"And there you go again...I suggest that you just leave me alone now, before I offend you..."

"And there you go assuming to know that I could possibly be offended by something that you say," He retaliated and I knew that I deserved that.

I wasn't being fare to him but in all fairness he was the first man I had laid eyes on after finding Shaun in our bed with another woman, and it seemed that he was taking the brunt of my cynical mood.

I listened as he took charge and asked for me to be seen by a Doctor as soon as possible, and I watched as the nurse all but had a melt down in his presence as she giggled softly and more annoyingly than what I could seem to stomach right in this moment.

"A Doctor please?" I snapped impatiently.

This night had turned bad long before I had met this guy who was holding on to me tightly so that I didn't fall over, and all I wanted was to be left alone, I wanted to get in to see a Doctor, get whatever they were going to do to me, over and done with so that I could get home and curl under the covers and put this night behind me.

Thanks to Shaun, the night that should have been the best night of my life, had turned in to probably one of the worst nights that I had ever had. This date would forever be remembered as the night I caught the love of my life in our bed with another woman, when it should be remembered as the night that all my hard work had paid off.

"She's in a little bit of pain; do you think that it is possible that you could get her seen quickly honey?" The man asked giving her the flash of a handsome smile that I could instantly see the effects of on this little girl in the nurses uniform.

"I will see what I can do Mr. Hardy," She replied flattening her hair down.

"Call me Jeff honey, Mr. Hardy is my Dad," He chuckled softly causing her to giggle then tell him that she was going to go and check about getting me seen quickly. "Thank you,"

Shaking my head as the little slip of a girl, who in my opinion had to be younger than Doogie Howser. Seemingly she had known who this man was and I was left wondering if I was missing something but I would rather chew my own ankle off than ask him.
