Matt's POV;

The more we talked the more I could see myself really falling hard for Brittany, she was funny, she was sweet and she was real easy to open up to about almost anything that we talked about. It was evident that she was Family orientated, which was good because I was much the same way.

"...yeah she gave him a hard time earlier tonight when we moved to the bar to get another drink," I found myself saying as we talked about Jeff and her sister.

"Yeah? Suzie sometimes doesn't realize that she is being too brash, it just kind of comes out...sometimes we have to nudge her or flash our hand in front of our necks at her because it's like she has no internal sensor, what comes in to her head just flies straight out her mouth and sometimes I don't even think it is in her head before it flies out,"

"I get the feeling that whatever happened last night was pretty bad though?"

"Yeah it really was...she found her boyfriend in their bed with another woman," Brittany said her voice quiet as if she wasn't overly sure as to whether she should have told me.

"That isn't something that sits well with anyone! How was she holding up today?" I asked resting my head in to my hand as my arm rested on the back of the sofa where we were sat talking and had been for the past few hours.

"I don't really know to be honest..." She informed me. "We had breakfast together while Barry headed over to the house and grabbed her things, then she disappeared in to her room to unpack and we didn't really see her again until she appeared dressed and ready for work,"

"Is that usual for her?" I asked genuinely interested in anything to do with this woman's life, looking in to her dark eyes, I could see the resemblance to Suzie's, they were almost identical only Brittany's held an underlying softness that Suzie just didn't seem to have at this moment in time, but then again after hearing what Brittany just told me, I could understand that more than I had a few hours ago.

"What to shut herself away in her room?"

"No to shut herself off?"

"To me and Heather yeah, she doesn't really dump her problems on us you know?" She stated running her hand through her long burgundy coloured hair before turning her eyes to the bartender behind the bar and motioned that she would like another. "But that is just the way she is; she is there for me and Heather, she has always put us before herself but as far as really opening up to us, no...that's what she has Barry for,"

"Barry?"

"The guy who came up to say that he was taking her home earlier, they are...life long partners,"

"I don't understand," Shaking my head in confusion at her choice of words.

Hadn't she just said that Suzie had walked in on her boyfriend with another woman the previous night?

"They are best friends, they have vowed to always be in each other's lives, they do pretty much everything together, the only thing they don't do is kiss or share the same bed,"

"Ok now I got you! They've never?"

"Nope; that wasn't ever the way their relationship was...Suzie had a best friend in school called Susan and that girl had the hugest crush on him, but she was just too afraid to talk to him, to nervous I guess 'cos Barry was...he was the hottie in Suzie's year but that didn't phase my big sister, she just marched up to him one day and started talking to him,"

"Seems like she was always ballsy then?" I chuckled remembering the way she had talked to Jeff earlier.

Jeff hadn't had anyone talk to him like that in the longest time; he had gotten used to the attention that he received from women in general. So it wasn't overly difficult to see why he would be attracted to someone that he had to work for, so to speak.
