Chapter 20

As the limo drove through the city, feeling anxious, nervous but thrilled with excitement Harry stared out of the blackened windows. Harry was glad for the air conditioning, the heat here was definitely warmer than when they had left London. Never had she seen so much life, activity and bright lights, Jason held her hand the entire time, which was a grounding comfort. Harry still couldn't believe she was actually doing this, actually in LA going to Jason's home, it was surreal to say the least. Bizarre, in fact! They left the city and moved into a suburban area, the huge road was flanked either side by mansions, literally gated mansions, this was a whole world away from what Harry was used to and had ever seen, apart from on the tele or in the movies. Oh My God! The realisation hit Harry with full force, she was in Beverly Hills, actually Beverly Hills!

The limo pulled up to a large iron gate that opened as they arrived, "this is home, I hope you like it?" Jason spoke with a smile in his face as he stared at Harry's open mouth and wide eyes. They drove up a long driveway finally coming to a halt outside large steps which led to a large door.

"How many people live here, it's like a hotel?" Even in the dark Harry could see how huge the place was, it was akin to a palace. I wonder how many toilets there are? Having spent her childhood sharing a toilet and shower room with many, having more than one toilet to oneself was an absolute luxury.

"Just me, and of course the staff."

"Staff? You have staff?" It was a stupid question or course he had staff, there's no way he could keep all that clean.

Jason laughed, "come on, I'll give you the personal guided tour."

Harry hadn't even noticed they were now alone in the car, the security guards had said nothing the entire journey, there focus was everything that was going on around them. Jason's car door opened and he pulled Harry with him. Jason led Harry up the steps to the front door which was already open, a smartly dressed older man stood with his hand on the door, "Welcome home sir," he spoke in a quiet British voice, Harry was momentarily surprised she expected an American accent.

Jason merely nodded and murmured a thank you. Not giving Harry time to catch her breath he was like an excited child wanting to show her everything at once. It was grand reception room, that was brightly lit by a crystal chandelier that hung from the ceiling, there was a large round table in the centre of the room, and the floors were marble, Harry took off her shoes. The floor was cold to her feet, "What are you doing?" Jason asked as he looked down at her bare feet.

"I don't want to get the floors ..." Harry didn't finish it sounded stupid. "Never mind." Harry shook her head, her plan of acting cool and nonchalant like a mysterious sexy woman, had completely disintegrated.

By the time Jason was showing her the tenth bedroom, jet lag, the rush of excitement and all that had happened finally caught up with Harry, and she stifled a yawn, she was exhausted, "am I boring you?" Jason asked, the look on his face was actual concern.

"No, no God no, I just feel suddenly whacked," within seconds, Harry was lifted into his arms, it happened so quick the world spun a little.

"What are you doing?" Harry giggled as she asked.

"Taking you to bed!" Suddenly that sounded like the best idea ever.

"Wait, don't mean to be rude, but don't suppose we are staying the same bedroom as ..." Harry felt foolish it to bring it up but somehow, she didn't relish the idea of staying in the same bed that Jason had shared with Caron.

Jason kissed her full on the lips, it was hard yet soft, full of need that again made her world spin again, whatever she had been thinking was far gone from her thoughts now, when he lifted his head, his face only a breath from hers, "No, I thought it was time for change and new beginnings." Jason carried Harry just a few doors down the landing and with ease he opened the bedroom door. Never had Harry seen such an enormous bedroom, or a bed quite that big, you could fit at least 5 five people in it, not that they would, that would be weird and creepy. But it was huge! Jason placed Harry gently on the floor, which was covered a lush thick carpet, which her feet sunk into. The bedroom had everything it should have with extras there was a fireplace, a tv that could be mistaken for a cinema screen attached the far wall and the windows were dressed with long red curtains. For some strange reason Harry felt a wave of nerves wash over her, which was daft, it wasn't like they hadn't already slept together but somehow this all felt very different. This was his turf, his home and Harry felt very much like a poor guest that was being given a glimpse of seeing how the other half live. All of Harry's insecurities threatened to overshadow everything great that had happened, she wanted to trust him but there was a nagging voice telling her repeatedly 'don't get used to this, once he's had his time slumming it with you, you'll be on the first plane out of here, and it won't be in the style that you came in!'
