American Boy started playing the next morning. I groaned trying to find my phone on my bedside table. I found it and pressed the green button

"Hello?"

"Sorry did I wake you up, I thought it was a okay time." It was Dan. I looked at the clock it was nearly 11.

"I'm up. What's going on?" I question rubbing my eyes and trying to clear my foggy brain.

"Are you okay?"

"I spent 3 months in a foreign country, cut me some slack. Now the reason for your call." I groan and sit up in bed.

"So a lot happened last night and since your a part of both worlds...." he trailed off

"Enough with the for play, spill." he sighs

"So, when I got to the party, she was kissing Nate." he started I was silent "Rose."

"I'm waiting for you to carry on. Wait hold that thought. I need coffee." I got out of bed and jogged downstairs. CeCe and Eric were eating breakfast.

"Morning all, as much As I would love to chat. I have a friend on the line." I grabbed some food and coffee then sat by the pool

"Continue." I breath then take a sip of my coffee

"Well she was kissing him, to make someone jealous, for his benefit, not hers. I then may or may not have ran into two of the girls I had a thing with."

"Oh, busted." I laugh eating some of my food, teasing him.

"Yeah well they dumped their drinks on to me and I was knocked off my high horse. We then tried to salvage the jacket and got to talking. We agreed to meet up on the beech." he continued

"Okay." I drawled wondering where this was going.

"Everything was great I thought we had fixed things but she was weird." he added

"Weird how?"

"Well she wasn't into us anymore and she felt confused. She said that we should think and we did break up for a reason. Then said said we'll talk. What should I do?" he asked me

"Run. Run far and fast and never look back but still write to me." he laughed

"Your helpful."

"Dan, Serena is your dream girl and you put her in this class of perfection which she frequently breaks as most girls do because the perfect girl does not exist. You read to much like some preteen girl with the idiotic idea of love. Or some extremely lonely house wife. You guys had a messy ending one which gave you writers block. right."

"Right."

"And you wanted to end things in the first place then and now. Only you got swept up in the idea of reconciling. Which might or might not happen. Go home, take the jitney and think like about the real life we live in."

"How did you become so wise?" he wondered seemingly liking my answer.

"I live grew up with two men who lived in mistakes. I had a lot of time to think, which was kind of the problem. I am going bye." I chime and hang up." I finished my food and coffee then went to pack what little I had got out for going home. My brother and Nate were waiting.

"About time little sister."

"Bite me. It was a late start." I slipped into the car with them. I stuck my headphones on and leant my head against the window, falling back asleep.

"Arissa!" I chirped entering the flat.

"Rose, you look amazing." we hugged "Tell me everything. How was it, what did you get to do?" I started to tell her all about my trip as she made some coffee and then we sat on the couch. We talked for hours and then I got a text about Blair throwing a party.

Serena and I made our way up to Blairs apartment, when we got there she was talking with Darota.

"A party at the Hudson?" Serena questioned

"We got your message since when are you having a party?" I wondered as we came to stand in front of her

"Since Marcus does not think I'm worthy of meeting his family. Obviously I have some more work to do." she looked through her organiser.

"B, you don't have to do this." Serena states

"Yes, I do."

"no, you don't he was supposed to be a summer fling, a way to make my brother jealous. Not your future husband." I sighed folding my arms

"Marcus dated the descendant of Princess Grace, his consort needs to be able to host royal dinners and hobnob with oligarchs and dictators." she replied

"Oh Blair." I shake my head

"Well if you can't find common ground with a dictator, I don't know who can." Serena chuckled

"Dan likes soccer right? Or football as Marcus calls it. You think it would be too weird he came?" she asked Serena.

"No not necessarily ."

"Good, Rosie, you invite him." Blair ordered and my eyebrows furrowed

"Why am I being dragged into this? I think you're crazy for even going this far and you know I say that with so much love for you."

"Because Serena inviting him would be weird. But the two of you are still friends which even I can't figure out but there you go." she shrugged walking away from us

"Does this mean you think Dan has a redeeming quality?" I smirk

"As long as he knows his arse from his Arsenal, I think he's aces." she smiled back

"Well this could be a good opportunity to talk." Serena sighed seeing her bright side to having Dan there.

"And with that I am going. I do not need a repeat of the struggle that is your relationship with Dan. Blair, I will see you later." I kissed her cheek and left.
