With Rose safely trapped in the Brownstone pavement that was the strongest member off the board. Chuck and Serena finished up with Gabriel and came out. Chuck was the first over to Blair, Nate and Georgina .
"Chuck what happened?" Blair asked "And where did Rosie run off too?"
"We got the wrong guy. Believe it or not, the puppeteer is Poppy." Chuck informed them "As for my sister, she was called away."
"Poppy?" Nate couldn't believe it. Serena and Gabriel came out of the Palace restaurant talking.
"Thank you for actually coming. Nobody believed you really would." Serena told him
"As much as you don't believe me you're the only girl who was ever with waking up a priest for. I really did fall for you" Gabriel admitted
"Well not enough it seems. The money was more important." Serena retorted.
"Listen, Serena..."
"Gabriel, you should go." she tells him and he does as he's asked
"Where is he going? My PI hasn't confirmed his story. Even if it's true, he's still a crook." Chuck made a goos point .
"He's not the one we need. If we need to find him, I don't think it'll be that hard." Serena replies
"But why would Poppy stay in town, after what she did?" Nate questions
"She has to if she's gonna play the victim. She wants us to think Gabriel fooled her too." Serena answers.
"She wants money. All we need to provide is some sap she thinks she can get it from" Chuck formulates then take outs his phone to message his sister.
"But she know's all of us." Blair states
"She doesn't know all of us." Serena comments looking at Georgina. The other catch on to her suggestion including Georgina who starts to protest.
"What? No. Uh-uh. Lying is also a sin. I will not perjure myself in front of the Lord."
"We'll see about that." Blair smirks

Serena and the others had been trying to get a hold of Rose for a while now but with no success. Serena returned home to talk to her mother.
"Hey, you keep calling, is everything okay?" she asks. Lily excuses herself from talking with Bruce Caplan to talk to her daughter
"I know all about Gabriel's scheme. And frankly I'm disappointed that you didn't come to me." Lily tells Serena
"Dan? Look, I'm sorry Mom. I was gonna tell you, and then....I can't believe he told you." Serena shakes her head
"Well, he obviously sees the situation and my role in it much more clearly that you do."
"It is a mess, but it's my mess and I'm gonna fix it."
"You will do no such thing, this goes far beyond bad taste in boyfriends." Lily retorts
"But you encouraged me to be with him." Serena replies folding her arms
"If word get's out about this all anyone will ever think when they hear the name Serena Van Der Woodsen is how you helped scam your friends and family out of hundreds of thousands of dollars."
"I know, I feel terrible. That's why I'm gonna get everything back. I have a plan." She tried to tell Lily.
"Don't be nieve. The Madoff people will be in court for years and never see a dime. The only plan is for me to quietly tell everyone the deal didn't work out and pay them back myself."
"But what about Poppy?" Serena questioned
"What about her?" Lily sighs having enough with her daughters antics
"She was behind all of this, she can't just get away with it." Serena argues
"Yes she can, And especially if it means your name stays out of it. This is an adult scandal and the adult thing to do is for me to pay everyone back and for you to do absolutely nothing. Am I understood?"
"Yes."
"And don't think you can rope Rose into it anymore, the only one more determined than you to get payback, she is safely away until I sort things out." Lily goes back to talking with Bruce while Serena calls Blair.
"Hey S."
"My Mom wants us to call of the plan." Serena tells her friend
"What? No. do you know work this exorcism was? I don't even have Rose to share the load. That and it's gonna take days for Dortoa to reorganise my closet."
"I don't like it either, I'm just telling you. She wants to take care of things and leave Poppy out of it."
"Poppy is it! She's so evil she makes the old Georgina look like the new Georgina"
"I know, but she has Rose stashed somewhere to make sure it puts a kink in things. It's probably why she's not answering her phone." Serena informed her best friend
"Serena?" Lily called
"I have to go. Just put the plan on hold, and do not do anything until I call you back, okay?"
"S wait." but Serena hung up and went out into the living room. Guess who was there.
Poppy Lifton
"Poppy just dropped by after all the terrible drama this morning." Lily told her daughter while straining on the words.
"The money part was bad, it just feel like such and idiot. I thought he loved me." Poppy lied through her teeth "Obviously you understand that."
"Obviously." Serena retorted
"Poppy also told me that she's going to Miami tomorrow night" Lily informed Serena
"Yeah, I have a cousin down there and I just thought if I have to feel like a fool I might as well do it with a tan." they all fake laughed
"You might wanna check, you have a little.." Serena pointed to the corner of her lips and Poppy stood up
"oh, excuse me." she left mother and daughter alone. Serena sat next to her mother taking Poppy's place
"What are you doing having tea and smiling at her. We should lock the doors and call the police." Serena scowled at her mother
"We've already discussed this. The adult thing to do is to let it and her disappear." Lily replied placing her tea on the table.
"She's not going to disappear, she's going to Miami. Where she's going to do the exact same thing to new people."
"Well we can only hope those people will be smarter."
