Friends of Blair had all ben convened for the annual discussion of Blair's birthday party.

"Though it seems like just yesterday that Rose, Serena and I were 8, playing dress up in my mother manilas. My 18th Birthday has finally arrived. It has to be perfect, so blood orange martinis or beluga and belvedere?" Blair beamed. Serena's phone beeped

"Why don't we make drinks and do a taste test?" Penelope suggested

"Oh I can't I'm meeting my mothers new boyfriend" Blair answered seemingly a happy about it. Which was a vast difference from how I thought she would react.

"Even moms have boyfriends and I don't." Hazel grumbled picking up a strawberry and eating it.

"Cyrus has been my Mom's attorney since the divorce. He asked her out, but she didn't want to mix business with pleasure. Finally his amorous overtures wore her down and she agreed to dinner. She's been smitten ever since." we all awed at the story.

"One thing my Mom has is good taste in men. Maybe a dashing step dad is just what I need." Serena's phone went off again.

"Speaking of good taste in men, how's the sexy artist, Serena?" Penelope wondered, drawing the attention away from the pending birthday girl.

"Oh, Aaron's been great. He's been sending me maps to the most beautiful places. The other day I ended up in a private room in the Cloisters overlooking the gardens." Serena bragged, I shook my head and rolled my eyes.

"Spare them the details, Serena, Hazel will kill herself with envy" Blair replied as her phone went off again.

"Oh this is him. I gotta go." she grabbed her things and stood up.

"What? What about my party?" Blair questioned hurt that one of her best friends was leaving.

"Blood orange martini's all the way." she got up and left. Blair scowled then looked at me .

"You're not leaving are you?" she questioned me hopeful.

"No, you have me until you don't want to." she grabbed my hand "I'm taking that was the right answer." When we had finished we said our goodbyes. I headed over to the family apartment.

"Daddy, brother. Happy 20th Aniversary for Bass industries." I chirp Hugging him and my brother.

"Hello, sweetheart." Dad greeted

"Now it's nothing fancy, but I saw it and I found it so funny I couldn't resist." i handed him a small bag and I wrapped an arm around my brother. I saw he had rangers tickets.

"Awh cool, Did you get that as a gift? That is so much better than mine." I looked at them "Best seat in the house, impressive."

"Thank you Rose, that is very sweet of you" I smiled as he looked don at the mug with the words, world's best boss written on it.

"I know it's not your thing, but maybe it could be used as a decretive piece on one of your offices and I bought it with my own money that I earned." Dan kissed my cheek

"I'm sure i can find a place. If you'll excuse me." he went upstairs to his office.

"I don't get it?" Chuck grumbled

"Get what?" I wondered turning my attention back to him, he looked visibly upset.

"I buy him the best season tickets connected to a childhood memory of his and he turns his nose up at it. You by him a novelty gift from some shop and he's going to find a place for it." My smile dropped.

"Oh. Chuck I'm so sorry. I didn't know." I put my hand on his shoulder.

"You never do. It's not even you're fault, so I can hardly be mad at you. " He walked over to sit on the couch

"I try so hard and nothing, why does he hate me?" he questioned

"Chuck, he doesn't hate you." I sit down next to him and wrap my arms around him "He just..." I tried to come up with something

"See not even you can justify his actions." I sighed and continue to comfort him.

--------------------------

"Where have you been? I called you 15 times last night." Blair stressed

"Why what's the matter?" I wonder "Do you need my hand to drag me somewhere?" I held it up

"Yes, let's go." she took it. We had this deal where even if she's pissed she has to ask for my hand or I offer it so she can take me somewhere. We Headed toward the lockers and Serena.

"Where the hell have you been I called you ten times last night." lovely I'm popular that Serena as well. No doubt this will bite me in the ass as well

"I went to the dentist at lunch and yesterday I met Aaron in times square. B it was the most romantic thing." I internally slapped my hand against my face. She's was being seriously dumb

"Who cares about plaque or artists. When your best friends having a meltdown." and there it was. Serena could not read the room. To be fair the same could be said for me sometimes but Serena had me beat.

"B, breathe. Now that you have us, tell us what's going on." I tell her taking over on the decent best friend duty.

"He's totally unsuitable." Blair whined

"Who is?" Serena questioned

"Cyrus. He's five feet tall, he has a catchphrase and he's a hugger. I was expecting Cary Grant and I got Danny DeVito" Serena's phone beeped she looked down at it.

"I gotta go." I rolled my eyes at her.

"Aaron." she looked hurt and annoyed

"Yeah. He asked me to pose for him in his studio. To be his muse." she grinned at us. Again read the fucking room Serena.

"And you said yes?" I wondered

"Yes,It's romantic."

"No, it's a death trap. Being the muse never works out" Blair replies

"Plenty of women have been both lover and muse to famous artist, like Picasso" Serena retorted

"I've been with Artists. A guy starts out in his blue period and everything is great. But it is only a matter of time before it's another girls eye coming out of her forehead. Besides our best friend needs us right now, to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid." I sigh

"What she said" Blair pointed and nodded in agreement

"She has you. I'm going, bye." she left and it was just the two of us. I turned to Blair.

"Blair, no scheming face. This is not the way to go about things." I tell her noticing the cogs turning it that head of hers

"Then what do i do."

"You wanted to be the Grace Kelly of your time, deal with the situation like a princess. A princess doesn't scheme she handles tough situations with...well with grace. Get to know him. So he didn't make a great first impression. Maybe the second will be better."

"You're right. You are totally right. Thank you Rose." she took a deep breath

"You're welcome. Now go and be tolerant." I shooed her off and then I went to grab some things before leaving.
