The first day of Senior year and the last first day of high school. I had left earlier to meet my brother and the Van der Woodsen-Bass Apartment. I stepped out just as he was coming down the stairs.
"Rosie." he greeted coming down the last couple of steps.
"Brother." I smiled rising his cheek. and taking his arm as he walked me to the breakfast table.
"I feel cheated." I heard Serena. Oh that was other news she and Dan had officially called it quits there were no two ways about it.
"Last time you said you felt violated." Chuck commented "Welcome home..." he greeted our step mother
"Say 'Mom' and I will kill you." Serena threatened
"Decaf Serena. I was going to say Mrs Bass." Chuck replied
"Thank you Charles, Rosalie. Bart had to fly out to Beijing on business but he sends his best." Lily told us. I rolled my eyes
"As he has done since kindergarten." Chuck commented
"Not that we're bitter or anything." I add
"Okay. Hello, we were talking about romantic getaway, the beach. I could stay home." Serena brought the attention back to her conversation.
"Bu it's your first day..."
"Serena and Dan broke up. Tragic." Chuck informed her. "If not entirely unprecedented. But not without an upside. Humphrey was holding you back. You were born a Queen."
"Chuck, that's my best friend you're talking about. Shut up." I slap him around the head "Do you know what for that comment I'm ignoring you for the entire day." I folded my arms and turned away from him.
"Lily a pleasure. Eric, Serena I will see you at school." I glared at my brother, turned on my heel and left. I picked breakfast up on the way. Once I was there I waited in the courtyard.
"Hey, I thought you were having breakfast with the family?" Dan sat down next to me
"Chuck." Was all I replied
"Ah, so I have a question? The project and the victims, what is that?" he wondered and I smiled
"Blair's hot or not list. You have a good social standing, potential you're in. You mess up you're toast." I explain, it was kind of fun to watch. Kind of, only slightly because of the hopefuls and the downfalls.
"Right and girls actually want to be apart of this?"
"Yup. If you're in on it with the either of the Queen's of the five schools you are little old fashioned handmaidens of the it scene. That or they become your worse nightmare if you don't keep to yourself and move out of the line of fire should they be around."
"This happens at the other schools?" i nodded
"Blair even created a mafia esqe club like those you see in films." I added
"And you're apart of it?"
"I'm not an underling I'm a friend. I'm like a Duchess, Serena was a Queen though, till Blair took power." I shrugged.
"Nope it still doesn't make sense." I laughed shaking my head "Why do you ask?"
"Jenny."
"Ah she was a project who tried to seize power. Yeah they will probably just ignore her, if their smart enough." He was confused.
"A social system. here." I took out my pad and drew a triangle "Hierarchy of this school. Blair is Queen. Serena and I are Duchess and Dowager Queen. Then you have the handmaidens, then everyone else."
"Wow."
"I know. but because i rank higher than them and i'm a self proclaimed badass, they won't cross me. Jenny is my friend as are you. The only way something happens is by direct order from Blair and she's no longer interested in your sister or you." I concluded and he seemed to understand my explanation.
"Okay."
"Well I have to go grab some things from my locker." I state and we headed to my side of the school
"I will come with you." We walked through the halls to my locker. Jenny was already at hers.
"Hey Jen." I greeted the short haired blonde girl with a smile
"Hey." she waved as we sorted through our lockers. Dan was looking around obviously for Serena.
"You'd be the worst PI ever." Jenny commented and I chuckled
"Yeah, I don't wanna get caught of guard. I'm surprised I haven't seen her." he replied
"Especially since you're in the girls hallway looking for her. Just be nice, I'm sure this isn't easy for Serena either." Jen told him
"She was not wanting to come in today. Though I doubt Lily would have let her skip the first day of school." I add. Jen's expression changed and I turned to see what she was looking at. Isabel, Penelope and Nelly they walked right past us ignoring her. As I expected.
"It was..it was like I didn't even exist."
"I told you so." I tapped Dan's shoulder "Unless Blair tells them too they won't dare do anything. Even then I would stick up for ya. I'm of to get the best seat in the most boring class. That way I won't be picked to answer questions I have no clue about. See you later"
