Just as I was about to knock on the door of the Humphrey's it swung open and a flustered Jenny was there.
"Hey Jenny."
"Sorry, can't talk." she rushed passed me and I looked back for a moment before walking in.
"Good morning all. Have a late start Nathaniel?" I question going to stand next to sitting Dan. Nate was stood there in nothing but a towel.
"Hi, Rose." he went to get dressed
"Rufus." I smiled and turned my attention to Dan "Hey." I kissed him
"Hey." we smiled at each other
"So are you two officially together?" We turned our heads to him "Oh you haven't had the conversation. Ignore me, I'm just nosey."
"Yeah he is." Dan retorted" He finished the last bit of his breakfast and put it in the sink. "Bye Dad." he took my hand and we left.
"Okay what is up with you?" I question as we make our way to the subway "You boldly come to the VDW-B apartment confess your love for me and take me home and we've been all lovey and over each other since. Yet when your Dad brings up the stars of our relationship, you freeze?" he stopped and turned to face me
"I know that you're still insecure about us, so I don't want to push you." I smile a little "I want us to work, I do and I'm afraid that if I say or do the wrong thing you'll run away from me instead of to me. This is all still new."
"That is incredibly sweet, Daniel. Okay how about we start simple, we were friends before this right so us going out together is normal, but instead of hanging out it's a date." I suggest.
"Right, a date." he nodded agreeing with me but was still apprehensive and cautious of my feelings.
"And a casual date nothing fancy or expensive or extra."
"How about my Dad's gallery, the new artist he discovered is putting on a show. We can help out before hand and then go as a promising couple. Drama free" he offered
"Don't say that something is bound to happen." I chime laughing
"Okay, I take it back." he smiled softly then brushed a piece of hair out of my face.
"You've probably jinxed us now. Come on let's go to school." I pull him forward and we head to school.

I was sat in the courtyard doing homework, I would like to get a least some of it done. Senior year is full of homework.
"Hey, how was French?" Dan caught my attention, we kissed as he sat down
"Boring, we had a French Nanny in our informative years. How was AP english." I answered finishing of my French homework easily
"Kicking my ass." I chuckled "Hey, Serena." he called as she came out
"Oh hey Dan. Hi Rose."
"Serena" I nod to her
"So how is AP economics treating you?" Dan wondered as she came over
"Well, today there was a rousing debate about inflation vs liquidity which Isabel settled by calling Warren Buffett. Apparently he's her godfather." the chuckled
"So, talking to you last week was nice. I know the first leg of the Dan and Serena let's be friends tour was a disaster." Dan made conversation. A part of me felt like this was a test to see how I would react, so he could have a gauge on me, I knew he was still more on edge than I was in regards to a relationship with the two of us.
"Yeah you ended hooking up with my step sister." she replied and I could feel her eyes on me. The judgement and overwhelming feelings coming from her was super real.
"Still here you know." I retort not looking up from what I was doing. I was determined not to fall behind or screw up on School work this year. Not when I had worked so hard.
"I know. but we were young and stupid then. Now weird older and wiser." Dan replied
"You're okay with us being friends, right. You're not gonna break my face or anything?" Dan questioned me. I laughed
"Thats, sweet you'd think I'd go for your face." I coo resting my hand on his cheek "It's to handsome, I'd break your legs instead." I joke
"You being friends doesn't bother me, providing that as long as we are whatever we are it stays just that."
"You have to help me destroy Chuck Bass." Blair stormed over and shoved Serena out of the way.
"If I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I would be richer than my father." I comment turning my attention to my best friend.
"I'll take that as my cue to leave." He went to go by I stopped him
"Dan, wait. If you have a problem with my brother a man's perspective could be helpful." I tell her
"Just because you two have declared feelings for each other doesn't mean I have to be the enabler." she retorted back to me, I knew she cared, and that she was pretending.
"Blair, come on." Serena tried to reason with her. Blair sighs and silently agrees with a small smile.
"If you're plotting against Chuck Bass, then I'm sure I can think of something." he sighed
"Fine, I have an itch only Chuck can scratch and he won't oblige unless I tell him I love him." Blair admitted and I was seriously grosses out, I made a disgusted face.
"You need help getting Chuck to sleep with you? Really?" Dan judged and I snorted
"You hear the judgement in his voice now, right?" she questioned me.
"He's working on it. Right?" Serena butted in.
"Yeah, yeah. No judgement, only help. So do you love him?" Dan wondered resting his chin on his hand.
"God, no."
"Bullshit" I coughed and Dan snorted
"Shut up, Rosie." she glared at me, I just stared back in amusement.
"Well why don't you just say it to get what you want? Guys have been doing that since forever." Dan offered
"I can't if I say it Chuck wins." Blair retorted
"Right, but if you say it, then you get him, and you win." Dan answers
"No, I lose. See? He doesn't get it, this is totally pointless." she turned back to me "I was thinking I would disappear and give him a taste of life without me."
"No, no, no. That's a terrible idea. Don't disappear. Become unavoidable. Chuck may be a divine, but he's still a man. Just drive him crazy, wear him down. You should be good a that." he replied and I grinned
"Look, who finally got a little interesting" Blair remarks
"I'm sure it's a fluke." Dan replied
"See, isn't this nice?" Serena comments and I leaned in to give Dan a chase kiss
"Ew, you guys are making me nauseous" She huffed and left.
"I best be going as well." Serena grabbed her books and left just the two of us once more.
"Thank you for helping. I know you're fond of each other, but I'm extremely happy that you're at least attempting to be civil."
"It's nothing."
"it's everything. I'm not expecting friendship and sharing secrets but maybe a civil distaste. I have to go but I will see you after school." I gave him a quick kiss
