Damian's POV

"Damian King!!!Wake up and come down now or else I have to come to your room and I will not be responsible for the consequences if I do." I force my eyes open as I hear my mom's yelling fot the Nth time. Don't take my mom lightly. She does what she says and even my dad can't say anything.

Well he is a lovestruck puppy who follows her every command. They have been married for 29 years, going to be 30 years in a few weeks but they still behave like newly married couples. I wonder if I will ever experience such true love but having good looks with money does not help. Most of the girls I came across wanted me for my looks or money.

I check the time and it's nine already. I usually wake up really early but I worked till really late last night and I was very exhausted.

"I am up." I shout loud for her to hear so she won't come to my room.

With the sign I get out of bed to go to the washroom before going to the dining room for breakfast.

"Good morning mom. Good morning dad" I wish them while kissing my mom on her forehead and take my seat.  I love my family and my parents are the most loving and caring people I know.

Martha, our head maid, gives me a polite smile and serves me breakfast. She is 50 years and has been with us ever since my parents moved to this house. For us, she is more like a family member than a maid. She lost her husband, Robert, about five years ago and her son, Jason, lives in Canada and handels my dad's company's branch there.

"So how is the shifting going on?" my dad asks.

"It's finished and everything is settled. Just trying to find a place nearby to stay so I won't have to spend much time commuting in New York's crazy traffic."

Yes, I still live with my parents because I am back to New York after almost 9 years and I have been really busy settling down my company here. My parents live a little far from my office and our house is a very huge mansion but it's way too big for just three of us. My father is planning to retire soon and move to smaller house in the outskirts of New York.

I don't feel much connected to this house, maybe because I haven't spent much time here except a couple of years and vacations

I don't feel much connected to this house, maybe because I haven't spent much time here except a couple of years and vacations. My childhood was spent in California with my grandparents and then I went to London after high school. I want to build my own house when I find my love. I want a dream house where I can build memories with her and our family.

"When are you planning to take over my company, son? I really need to retire." My dad asks, taking me out of my train of thoughts.

"Oh Honey!!! Give my son some break. He just moved his company here so let him settle down first. Moreover, We have never got much quality time to spend with our son so let's have a small vacation as a family. I don't think we will get much attention after he starts his own family." My mom replies and wiggles her eyebrows at me while saying the last line but I ignore her.
