Katherine Pierce leaned against the wall as Elena Gilbert sat on the floor. "So how much of your little story is true?" Elena asked her.

"I have no reason to lie, Elena. I have no reason to do anything but sit here and rot." Katherine retorted nonchalantly.

"Okay, assuming it's even partially true. That's the reason why you came back, isn't it? Because you wanted to be the one to hand me over to Klaus." The Gilbert girl questioned her.

"500 years on the run, I figured maybe he'd be willing to strike a deal."

"So you got Mason Lockwood to find you the moonstone."

"Right again." Katherine clicked her tongue.

"What else do you need to break the curse? It's not just me or the stone, is it? Otherwise, there would be no reason to trigger Tyler Lockwood's werewolf curse."

"Look who's getting smarter!" She clapped her hands in fake enthusiasm.

"So you need a werewolf, what else?"

"A witch to do the spell and a vampire."

"Bonnie and Caroline. So you were just gonna hand us over to die?"

"Better you die than I." Katherine stated as she went back inside the tomb.
Elena picked her bag up and started to walk towards the entrance of the tomb as Stefan came into view "Elena?", Stefan called out.

"Stefan, what are you doing here?" Elena asked him, surprised by the sight of him. She mentally face palmed herself, regretting the decision to tell Caroline that she was going to talk to Katherine.

"I could ask you the same question." He retorted.

"I didn't tell you because I know you'd stop me."

"Listen to me. Whatever she said to you is a lie. She's a liar, Elena." Stefan tried to reason with her.

"What if she isn't lying this time?" She countered his reasoning.

"You don't have to worry. I am not gonna let anything happen to you."

"That's the problem, you won't but you'll die trying. How is that any better?" Elena asked as Katherine came back from inside the tomb.

"There's nothing you can do, Stefan. I haven't even told you the best part of the story yet." Katherine spoke.

"And what is that?" He asked.

"He killed them, my entire family, just to get back at me for running... Whatever you do to escape Klaus, he will get his vengeance on your friends, your family, and anyone that you've ever loved." She announced as a horrified Elena listened on.

Stefan grabbed her face, prompting her to look at him. "No, look at me. No, do not listen to her, okay?"

"Always the protector, Stefan, but even you must realize that she's doomed. There's nothing you can do to stop it unless of course, you have this." Katherine spoke as she showed them the moonstone.

"What?" Elena asked as she turned towards Katherine.

Stefan stopped Elena, walking towards Katherine, the anger boiling inside of him. "Oh no, there it is. It's the Ultimate lie, isn't it? You spun this whole story around so that you could trade the moonstone for your freedom, you manipulative, psychotic bitch."
