Just wanted to take a moment to thank every one of you who commented on the a/n and reached out to me personally. With all the planning going on, I just realized I didn't thank you all personally, so sorry for that, but I appreciate the love and support from each one of you :)

Our surroundings were absolutely breathtaking. It was a pity that we found this place for hiding out. Some other day, the lakehouse would've been a perfect spot for a long vacation. And I realized all that just now. Yup, two years and now I noticed where I had been living for so long.
A cool breeze blew, carrying the dewy petrichor of the post-rain afternoon. I just stood in midst of the two swaying trees, watching as the clouds disappeared slowly, letting the peeking ray of sunshine fall over me.
"It's so weird. I could swear I saw him," I heard Cami say from inside the house.
"That's because you were hallucinating," Elena explained.
When Damon and Marcel brought a frightened Cami to the safehouse last night, she hallucinated about Stefan again. She said he talked to her. Freya gave her the cure, so she was all healed up now. No hallucinations, no more Stefan.
"Rose," Eleanor called out softly.
I turned around to find her standing in front of me. Her arms were crossed over her chest, dark brown hair resting perfectly on her shoulders. Did she cut it? The afternoon sun lit her up in angelic brilliance, nearly blinding me and I took a step back, blocking it out with the shade of the trees.
"Eleanor," I greeted back, keeping my shoulders straight. "You wanted to talk?"
She hummed. "I hope you know what this is all about,"
"I do,"
The words came out as a whisper. I felt like a child who was about to get scolded by her mother. Afraid. But I was also grateful to have her here with me right now.
"What you tried to do, again and again, was incredibly reckless and foolish, young lady," I nodded, head hung low. "Not to mention that you also constantly tried to break two promises you're now so determined to keep,"
"In my defence, I was depressed," I let out. "...and when you're in that bubble, nothing matters. Not even your child and I'm sorry for that,"
She sighed, lifting my chin with her hands. "I'm not here to judge you, Rose... But sometimes, when you can't see the light at the end of the road, you just have to trust the person beside you to hold your hand and guide you, and I know how much Damon has been there for you. Every day. Every hour. Every second. All he has done is set his whole being aside to love you and comfort you when you needed him the most..."
"I know," I replied softly. "I know,"
"Yet you tried to kill yourself..."
I took a deep breath. "It was a moment of weakness and I'm sorry for that, but I'm okay now,"
