"THE HARGRAVE BALL," I mumbled, reading the words from the flyer before me. I was at school, making my way towards Ric's class when I noticed the flyer on the Notice board. "Why are they throwing a ball?" I asked myself in a low voice.
Suddenly, Somebody grabbed my arm and pulled me into the classroom. I looked up to see Damon grinning at me. "Hey!"
"Damon!" I scolded him, hitting him lightly on the chest. "You're going to kill me one day if you keep scaring me like that,"
He pouted at me, flashing his puppy dog eyes at me. "I'm sorry,"
His trick worked and I sighed at him before smiling. "What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"I came to see you of course," He smirked at me. "And do this..." He trailed off, capturing my lips with his while his hands stayed on my waist. I wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him closer to me when a cough interrupted us.
I looked aside to see Alaric leaning against the door of his classroom, watching us with raised eyebrows. "Do you two ever stop?" He asked us with a disgusted look.
I broke away from Damon, adjusting my clothes. "Blame your best friend for that...I'm the teenager here but he acts like one." I stated, earning a glare at me.
Alaric closed the classroom door and came to stand beside us. He showed us the flyer I had been looking at. "What's with the Hargraves?" He asked us, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Yeah, why are they throwing a ball?" I directed that towards Damon. If something was going on in Mystic Falls, Liz would have already told Damon.
"Ethan Hargrave wants to celebrate the success of the investments he made in Mystic Falls..." Damon imitated Liz, making me furrow my eyebrows.
"Yeah. But why invite the whole town for that?" I asked back.
"That's what I'd like to know," Damon replied, leaning against the wall. "Another council member was killed last night," He announced, making me frown.
"Three council members in total..." I trailed off.
"It's forming a pattern," Alaric added in and we nodded.
"My suspicion was on the sexy doctor but...it could be someone else," He remarked, looking at the flyer in Alaric's hand.
"Wait...do you think the Hargraves have something to do with it?" I asked, looking between the two of them.
"We'll find out tonight..." Damon mumbled, rubbing his hands together.
Discomfort took over me at the thought of meeting Ethan. After what happened two days ago, I wouldn't be able to meet him with a straight face. But Damon was right, there was something suspicious about the Hargraves
