"Are you even listening to what I'm saying?" Caroline's voice took me out of my thoughts and I looked up to see her glaring at me with her hands on her hips. She had been rambling about Matt for the past two hours and I had zoned out from our conversation long ago.
"I am listening, Caroline," I responded and she started talking again.
"I mean he completely freaked out when I told him. This wasn't supposed to happen like this-" She started rambling again, repeating the same thing she told me an hour ago. I once again became completely immersed in my thoughts.
Yesterday, a series of bad events had taken place. In the morning, I got to know that Isobel had come to the Gilbert house to talk to Elena. She met Jenna there and introduced herself as Elena's mother and Alaric's wife. Jenna had been freaking out ever since. She refused to talk to Alaric or even Elena about this.
Caroline had called me yesterday and she was worried sick about Matt. He had found out about Caroline and the other vampires, and had disappeared ever since. Later in the evening, Matt had come to the Forbes house and had demanded answers from Caroline about his sister, Vicki, who was killed by Stefan. Then, he had asked Caroline to make him forget everything she just told him and she did so.
Elena and Stefan had gone to the Lockwood house to attend a luncheon when Isobel killed John Gilbert to cause a distraction and kidnapped Elena. Katherine had also vanished, taking the moonstone with her. Isobel had later killed herself and we all thought that Klaus compelled her to do so.
Despite all of this, Bonnie had gotten her powers back. Katherine had no idea about this, which made her our secret weapon.
"Now what? Everything has fallen apart." Caroline said while she walked over to the couch and sat beside me.
"You are not gonna do anything. You are going to relax. You compelled him right?" I asked her and she nodded, "So what's the problem? It will all fall back into place when it's meant to be." I finished and she smiled.
"You are such a mood lifter!" She hugged me and both of us got up as Elena and the Salvatore brothers walked inside with the lawyer. They thought that it was best to write their home under Elena's name. This way, no unwanted vampire would be able to enter without Elena's invitation.
We walked over to where Elena was signing the papers. The Lawyer instructed her on where to sign the paper.
"So this place is all yours? They just gave it to you?" Caroline asked and raised her eyebrows.
"For now. As a sole owner, I'm the only one who can invite a certain type of person in here, if you know what I mean." Elena responded, still signing the papers.
"Your own personal safe house," I stated.
"That's the idea," She looked at me and shrugged.
"Wouldn't want to clean it," Caroline said and the three of us burst out laughing.
