Shock actually drowned you as you watched Mingyu talking with your parents. They were acting like life long friends. Of course you were happy, it was just surprising. You were expecting Mingyu to be shy and quiet, but it's the complete opposite. In a way, you were glad. You didn't think your parents would like an overly introverted person, since they themselves were very outgoing, literally contradicting your own personality. Nonetheless, you chose to sit back and watch the comfortable scene, only chipping in when necessary. For example, embarrassing childhood stories. You had to shove food into your mother's mouth just to shut her up.
"Hunny, I don't know why you are so embarrassed. It's cute that you had a dummy (pacifier) until the age 10." Your mother uttered after swallowing her mouth load.
After hearing Mingyu's chuckle, you buried your head in your hands. "It's not cute mom, its humiliating. You even allowed me to walk into school while it was in my mouth, I didn't even notice. Do you know how long I got teased for that?" You pointed your finger at Mingyu who was sitting next to you. "Now he is going to make fun of me."
Mingyu placed his hand over his chest. "I would never do such a thing. If anything, I think it's cute." He gifted you a sheepish smirk, causing you to become less embarrassed.
"See, I told you." Your mother said.
"Can we just change the subject to something other than me. What have you guys been doing these past few years?" You asked your parents.
"Other then worrying about you kids, everything has been normal. We are still working." Your father replied.
"How did Soobin become an Idol? I wouldn't have though you'd let him." You questioned.
It was like your mother had been waiting for this question. "That little git sent in his audition without us knowing. When he told us that's what he wanted to do with his life, we just laughed in disbelief. A few months later he's telling us he's moving to Seoul to train at BigHit. To say we were distraught is an understatement." She let out a loud sigh. "But after watching you both today, I understand that this is your life and you're successful. That's all we ever wanted for you."
Her words filled you with content.
"If you don't mind me asking...how exactly did you two meet?" Your father spoke.
Mingyu tried to hold in his laughter. "We actually met at the bar y/n was working in 4 years ago."
They both nodded. "That must be when you conceived your child."
You both chocked on your own spit. "Mother, you can't just say that!" You harshly whispered, trying not to attract too much attention.
She shrugged her shoulders as if she didn't just say something awkward to her daughter, "What? There is nothing wrong with it."
"I know but it's just weird when you say it." you replied, clearing your throat with a glass of water.
"You are so sensitive, y/n." She rolled her eyes. "By the way, I am so sorry about what happened to the child."
