Layla's POV
I was heading home from running errands in town for mother when I suddenly found myself in the middle of a fierce gale then I was in some familiar ruins. I smiled, feeling my magic return. Yes, I was back in Narnia again but where were the Pevensies and why was I sent here?
I walked around wondering what had happened to this place. Had someone attacked while we were gone?

Lucy's POV
After playing in the water for a while, we walked up the hill to the ruins Edmund had noticed. My siblings split up as we explored the ruins. Peter climbed up some old stairs and looked around while Susan wandered the apple grove. I picked an golden apple and bit into it. I walked up to a small balcony looking over the sea below. It was beautiful to be honest.
"I wonder who lived here?" I asked turning to Susan who was walking past.
Susan stepped on something and bent to pick it up. "I think we did," she replied.
We all came over to her to see what she was holding.
"Hey, that's mine," Edmund noticed. "From my chess set."
"Which chess set?" Peter asked.
"Well, I didn't exactly have a solid good chess set in Finchley, did I," Edmund pointed out, taking the item from Susan.
I glanced over at four broken down chairs on a raised dais. "Can't be." I gasped, a vague memory reappearing in my mind.
"Lucy!" Peter called after me as I ran over to the dais.
"Don't you see?" I asked him.
"What?" He asked.
I turned him to face out over the hill.
"Imagine walls," I said quickly arranging my siblings in the correct order of the thrones. "And columns there, a glass roof." I took my spot beside Susan.
We all looked out over the ruins. "Cair Paravel," Peter realized.
"What happened while we were gone?" Susan voiced what was on all our minds.
We glanced over at where Layla used to stand at attention for every court session ready to defend us from any murders. Peter gently touched the spot then stood up and walked off. My siblings and I shared sympathetic looks before following him.
Where was Layla?

Layla's POV
I wandered around the ruins studying old column stumps and worn walls with vines growing over them. I touched them and tried make them to bend away but they didn't. I guess they were old vines that had been through some hard times.
"What happened while we were gone?" A very familiar voice asked.
I glanced around. Where did that come from?
I walked deeper into ruins. Trying to see where the voice came from. I rounded a corner and ran smack into someone.
"Layla?!?" A mature male voice asked softly, as the person gripped my waist to keep me from falling down.
My head shot up. "My word Edmund!" I exclaimed. "I haven't heard from you guys since you sent those letters!"
He grinned and released his grip on my waist. "Neither did we. It all stopped happening when Peter's necklace stopped-" he quickly cut himself off.
"Who are you talking to, Edmund?" Susan asked, coming over with Lucy behind her.
"Layla!" Lucy squealed, seeing me.
