"So what are they like?" Trufflehunter asked Trumpkin.

"Complainers......stubborn as mules in the morning," Trumpkin replied.

"So you like 'em?" Nikabrik asked.

Trumpkin paused for a while. "Well enough," he replied.

I walked next to Caspian when I heard this.

"What about the Guardian?"

"Like everything we've very heard."

"Layla?" Caspian asked, looking at me.

"Hum?" I hummed, unconsciously playing with my sword hilt with my fingers.

"Peter's seems so invested in helping the Narnians, why?"

"He's just anxious to get back to being King, most likely," I sighed. "I just wish that he would wake up to the reality that he needs to accept others' ideas."

He looked at me questionably and I just shrugged.

"What about the moon? Is it really what was said about it?"

I sighed again. "Yes, very much so. We used to be very efficient in battle. Even with other Pevensies, no kingdom could separate us and I never backed down from my duty as Guardian."

"Now?" He prodded.

"Now, well, that's uh, that's complicated," I excused, itching a little.

After a while, we arrived at the How. Centaurs lined up on each side of the entrance and drew their swords. They pointed the tips of the others forming an arch. The Pevensies smiled and we walked forward with me in front while the Narnians with us followed behind.

We entered the How and surveyed the many workers hard at work at multiple work stations making several weapons and other things.

"It may not be what you are used to but it is defensible," Caspian explained.

"I love it," I grinned. "I'm so in my element."

Peter smiled at me.

"Peter, Layla," Susan called from a tunnel nearby. "You may want to see this."

She led us into the tunnels to a spot where several paintings covered the walls. Paintings of the Golden Age and of the Kings and Queens and me as the Forest Watcher.

"It's us," Susan said.

"What is this place?" Lucy asked.

"You don't know?" Caspian questioned, bewildered.

"Well, we haven't exactly been here very long," I replied pointedly.

Caspian looked at me for a moment as if to say something but then took a nearby torch and led us farther down the tunnel. Soon we entered a wide open dark room. Caspian went over to a nearby trench and lit the oil inside. We watched in amazement as the fire travel all the way to the other side of the room. There was a carved image of Aslan in the middle of two stone pillars and in front was a stone table, the Stone Table with a crack down the middle. I remembered Aslan telling me about it.

Lucy walked up to the Stone Table and studied the image of Aslan. "He must know what he is doing," she said to us.

"I think it's up to us now," Peter said firmly.

"Well look who decided to show up," a voice spoke up as we exited the Stone Table room.

"Glimmer!" We all exclaimed.

"Greetings your majesties, Guardian," she bowed.

"Glimmer, old friend, I missed you," I hugged her and she returned it. "I see you kept your promise."

"Yes, though is was hard," she replied.

"Tell us everything about when this trouble with the Telmarines began," I asked.

"Well, it started four months after you five left...." she began.

We spent the rest of the afternoon catching up with Glimmer.
