I didn't know how we would pull this off, it was a bad idea to begin with but Peter insisted we go on with it. So here we were, flying through the dead of night towards the castle. My griffon flew in with the others behind when Edmund signaled us with his torch.

As we approached one of the lower towers, Caspian drew his sword and his griffin lowered him to strike the guard on watch then it fell in behind the the others.

Edmund's torch flicked on and off again as our griffons swooped in to land on a wall but I sensed trouble. That's when I saw a soldier aim for Edmund. Quickly, I notched an arrow and fired it. The arrow sprouted thorns and killed him.

Our griffins dropped us off and flew off while Peter drew his sword and slew the other Telmarine guard. Then we headed along the wall to Professor Cornelius's building.

I lowered a rope and the boys climbed down silently then me and the others followed.

Caspian knocked on the window. "Professor?" He whispered.

Unlatching the window, he stepped inside with us behind him. No one was in the room, just books and paper.

"I have to find him," Caspian told us when he found a pair of glasses on a table.

"You don't have time," Peter replied, quietly. "You have to the gatehouse."

"You wouldn't be here without him," Caspian pointed out. "And neither would I."

Susan looked at me then at Peter. "We can take care of Miraz."

"And I can still get to the gatehouse," Caspian said, turning to leave.

I stopped him. "Caspian, please be careful." I requested.

He smiled and gave me a quick hug. "Don't worry about me. You're Peter and Susan's guardian, I'll be fine."

I watched him leave the room then I turned to Peter and Susan. "Well let's get going."

They followed me out the door towards the room Miraz would be in. We ran into some guards a few times but because I had invisibly, I could just walk up to them and knock them out with my skills and the butt of my sword. We finally reached Miraz's room when I heard a sword slide out of it's holder.

I sent Peter and Susan a quizzical look. What the-?

"Put the sword down Caspian, I do not want to do this," a woman's voice said.

Susan burst in with her bow and arrow at the ready. "We don't want you to either!" She threatened.

I stood beside Susan with my hands out with a green orb at the ready while Peter stood behind us.

"This used to be a private room," Miraz sighed.

Peter looked at Caspian. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at the Gatehouse."

"And what part of 'be careful' do you not understand?" I exclaimed, exasperated.

"No!" Caspian shouted, he looked at Miraz. "Tonight, for once I want the truth! Did you kill my father?"

Miraz sighed. "Now we get to it."

You said your brother died in his sleep," Lady Prunaprismia asked.

"That was more or less true," Miraz responded.

"Did you kill my father?" Caspian repeated, taking a few steps towards Miraz.

A few drops of blood appeared on Miraz's neck and he takes a involuntary step back against the window.

"Caspian, this won't make things any better," Susan tried to reason.

"We Telmarines would have nothing had we not taken it. Your father knew that as well as anyone," Miraz explained.

Lady Prunaprismia lowered her crossbow slightly. "How could you?"

"For the same reason you will pull that trigger!" Miraz ordered. "For our son!" He started walking towards Caspian who backed up a few steps.

"Stop!" I ordered forming another green orb with my other hand.

"Stay right there!" Susan added.

Miraz continues to walk forward. "For our son! You must choose. Do you want our child to be king or do you want him to be like Caspian here? Fatherless!"

"No!" Lady Prunaprismia cried as she released the arrow.

It nips Caspian's arm and he falls down. Susan shot at Miraz but he slips through a secret door in the wall. I ran over to Caspian.

"This is exactly why I said this was a bad idea to begin with," I muttered, checking his wound. "What were you thinking?"

"I'm sorry, Layla," he replied with a groan.

I just stood up. "Save it for later. You're lucky you've survived that shot but now we've got more pressing matters on our hands."

We followed Peter and Susan out the door. I knew this would happen and I didn't know how we would survive this.
