Peter's POV
"Peter, I'm-I'm engaged," Layla's quavering voice spoke over the telephone line. "I'm sorry-."
I couldn't believe my ears. Engaged? But to who? This was like a sack of rocks hitting me in the chest.
"B-but Layla, you can't! What about the moon?"
The phone line went silent for a few minutes then her voice came across the line. It was strangely confident but at the same time like it was hiding the fact that it was crying. Like someone was watching or listening in on the conversation.
"I-I must, I'm sorry. We can't do this anymore. I'm sorry!"
"Layla-," I begged. "Why?"
"It's, my father. I just-," the line suddenly went dead.
I looked at the phone in my hand then it slowly slipped from my grip. She literally broke up with me....again. But why? This wasn't right!
I looked at the moon necklace on my chest. It still glowed like nothing happened but it blinked a couple times as if it was trying to send a message to it's other half.
Layla, why?!? Please don't leave me again.
