Layla's POV
Getting weapons from the Telmarines was easy and now we were on our way to Aslan's How to store the weapons. I could sense Pevensies were close.
Clashing swords interrupted my thoughts. Caspian and Peter were fighting, but they didn't know who the other person was.
I ran up to the fight just as Peter's sword struck a tree. Caspian kicked him and pulled Peter's sword from the tree. Peter didn't waste a minute and seized a rock.
"No! Stop!" Lucy cried from nearby.
The pair stop and looked at her.
"Prince Caspian?" Peter asked after surveying the group of Narnians gathering around.
"Yes, and who are you?" Caspian replied pointing the sword at Peter.
"Peter!" Susan scolded coming up to Lucy with Edmund and Trumpkin behind her.
"Hey, Layla," Edmund greeted, a hint of tiredness in his voice. "Glad you're back."
"Was Peter really that hard to keep sane?" I questioned.
"No, but, it's just not the same without you around," he replied.
"High King Peter?" Caspian asked.
"I believe you called," Peter answered.
"Well yes but," he paused. "I thought you'd be older."
"I'm the Guardian and I'm not much older than any of them," I pointed out.
"If you like we can come back in a few years," Peter suggested.
"No! No, that's alright. You're just...not what I expected," Caspian replied looking us.
"Now I really wish my eyes weren't grey," I mumbled to the other three Pevensies.
I saw that anger lurking in Peter's eyes like the time that one prince gave me the bracelet.
"Neither are you," Edmund frowned at a minotaur, thankfully interrupting the moment.
"Unexpected, I know," I grinned.
"A common enemy unites with the oldest of foes," Trufflehunter replied.
"We have anxiously awaited your return, my liege and great guardian," Reepicheep bowed. "Our hearts and swords are at your service."
"Oh, my gosh, he is so cute," Lucy whispered to Susan and I.
"Lucy, don't," I warned.
"Who said that?" Reepicheep questioned, waving his sword.
"Sorry," Lucy apologized.
"Oh, you're majesty, with the greatest respect," he bowed. "I do believe courageous, courteous, or chivalrous, might more befit a knight of Narnia."
I laughed, "Indeed."
"Well, at least we know some of you can handle a blade," Peter grinned down at the mouse. It was the first smile I've seen from him since arriving back here.
"Yes, indeed," Reepicheep replied. "I have recently put it to good use, securing weapons for your army, sire."
"Good, because we're going to be needing every sword we can get," Peter looked at Caspian.
"Well then, you'll probably be wanting yours back," Caspian handed the sword over hilt first.
Peter took it, sheathed it, and walked off
