We all stood in a line in front of the crowd of Narnians and Telmarines where Caspian was giving his speech. I stood in between Peter and Susan and Edmund and Lucy stood on Susan's other side.
"Narnia belongs to the Narnians, just as it does to man. Any Telmarines who want to stay and live in peace are welcome to." Caspian spoke to the crowd, "But for any of you who wish, Aslan will return you to the home of our forefathers." He looked at Aslan.
"It's been generations since we've left Telmar," a Telmarine spoke up.
"We're not referring to Telmar." Aslan informed them, "Your ancestors were seafaring brigans. Pirates run aground on an island. There they found a cave, a rare chasm that brought them here from their world. The same world as our kings and queens, and the Guardian." Aslan looked at the Pevensies and I.
"It is to that island I can return you. It is a good place for any of you who wish to make a good start."
There was pause.
"I'll go," a voice spoke up. "I will accept the offer,"
General Glozelle!
"So will we," Lady Prunasprisma added, stepping forward with an older man.
They stepped forward, coming up to the platform.
"Because you have spoken first, your future in that world will be good," Aslan softly blew on them then turned to the tree behind them.
Loud gasps of surprise arose from the crowd as they heard the tree split down the center and began to unwind before us. When the tree stopped turning everyone could see that there was a giant hole in the center. The group glanced at Aslan and Caspian before they walked up to the tree and disappeared into thin air.
Caspian stared at the tree in shock as the people in the crowd murmured to themselves.
"How do we know that he's not leading us to our death?" Someone in the crowd asked aloud.
"Sire, if my example can be of any service," Reep spoke up. "I will take eleven move through with no delay."
Aslan didn't say anything but looked at us.
I fidgeted with my sword knowing what will happen next. I'll miss fighting with my weapons, using my magic, and hanging out with the Narnians and now the Telmarines.
"We'll go," Peter spoke up, a hint of sadness in his voice and I understood it.
He stepped forward.
"We will?" Edmund asked, bewildered.
"Come on, our time's up," Peter replied.
He went over to Caspian. "After all, we're not really needed here anymore." Peter handed over his sword.
Caspian hesitatingly took the sword. "I'll look after it till you return," he assured Peter.
"I'm afraid that's just it," I sighed, tears brimming my eyes.
Caspian looked at me. He looked ready to break.
"We're not coming back," Susan added, in the same tone.
"We're not?" Lucy repeated, sounding devastated.
"You two are," Peter told her. He looked at Aslan, "at least I think he means you two."
"But why?" Lucy asked, turning to Aslan. "Did they do something wrong?"
"Quite the opposite, dear one," Aslan informed her. "Your brother and sister and the Guardian has learned what they can from this world, now it's time for them to live in their own."
Lucy looked at me but I shook my head.
"It's alright Lu," Peter assured her, going over to her. "It's not how I thought it would be-,"
He looked at me, almost as he was afraid of not seeing me when we go back. "But it's alright. One day you'll see too, come." He took her by the hand and walked over to the Narnians on the other side of the platform.
We all said our goodbyes to everyone, then I approached Caspian with Glimmer.
"So you really are leaving," he said, studying my face like he wanted to imprint my face in his mind.
I took my bow and arrows from my back. "The Guardian's duty here is over, Glimmer will stand in my place and serve you till she dies." I handed him the bow and arrows. "Don't worry, I'll come back one more time for my last job."
He looked at me, surprised but I just shrugged.
Glimmer bowed to Caspian. "I happily offer my services to you, my King and friend, till I die." Then she turned to me. "It was a pleasure to serve you while you were here."
I stroked her neck. "The same goes for me, dear friend. See you later," I hugged her and she returned it.
Caspian took my weapon.
"Take care of Narnia, will you?" I asked him.
He looked down, "of course, Guardian." Then he embraced me and I gladly returned the hug.
"Oh, that's cringey," Edmund noted. "That must be rough."
"Good thing you stole her heart before he did, Peter," Lucy added with a smirk.
I caught Peter's face flash a notable red color and I almost chuckled.
"Until next time?"
Caspian nodded and I walked back to the Pevensies. We started towards the hole in the tree. I took Peter's hand and he squeezed it as we stepped through. Lucy was the last to go through and just before she did, she took one last look behind her.
I found myself standing by myself in the middle of the busy streets of Cambridge, England. I was back in my old clothes and with my bike that held all the groceries I had bought before, leaning gently against my legs. I sighed. I may not be with Peter now, but I knew that Peter's moon half was somewhere as mine blinked at me.

Peter POV: London
We returned to the train station just as the train pulled to a stop in front of us. Layla wasn't with us but my moon was now glowing and it blinked once as if it was responding to it's other half.
The train doors opened and people came off while others boarded.
"Aren't you coming, Phyillis?" Some boy asked Susan.
She rolled her eyes as we looked at her then turned to gather our bags.
You don't think there's any way we can get back?" Edmund asked us as we boarded the train. He looked up at us.
"I left my new torch in Narnia." He finished with a little frown. We all burst into laughter as the doors of the train shut.
Our adventure in Narnia was over but the moon had been relit. I wondered what trials Aslan had told me will be coming my way but I hoped I'd be ready.
