Confrontation

Arizona grabs your arm and takes you into the attendings lounge. You feel yourself crumble in front of her, you can't keep it together anymore, it's too much.

"Take some deep breaths Grace, you're going to be okay." Arizona reassures, she opens a window to get some fresh air in and goes for a consult. She tells you take take the rest of the day off to do research in the labs.

You take a quick breather outside and go to grab a drink from the coffee cart. Surely he will just drop your stuff and leave? You hope that he doesn't cause a scene. You especially don't want your Dad to see Mark, he'll kill him, literally! You walk back in the hospital and sit in the labs to do some research on juvenile arthritis. Your phone pings, it's Mark.

Mark: Hey Grace, I'm at the hospital, I'm waiting outside the locker rooms like we said, you've got 10 minutes to get here before I drop your stuff and go.

You take a deep breath and step away from your research, you message Arizona to see what you should do.

You: Arizona, I know you're probably busy, but Mark is here, idk what to do?

Arizona: I'm just doing some charts in my office, where are you? I'll come with you, don't worry :-)

You: I'll meet you by your office, we need to hurry before Mark leaves, thank you sm Arizona!

You meet Arizona and you walk to the elevator. You can feel your stomach churning again and you've come over hot and clammy, your heart is racing. You hope he just drops your stuff and leaves. Arizona can sense how nervous you are, she grabs your hand in the elevator. 

"It's going to be okay Grace! He'll be here 5 minutes, then you never have to see him again. We can take your stuff and put it in my office, then we can go and get some lunch! I have a consult after that I need your help on as well, just focus on that okay" She says warmly and gives you a gentle hug. The elevator  dings and the doors open, Arizona grabs your arm and you both get out of the lift.

She stands you in front of her, she puts her hands on your shoulders and she looks into your eyes, "Look Grace, you've worked here for nearly a year now, you have proved to me time and time again, you are always up for a challenge, this is no different. Go and get what you need and you never have to see him again, the same with Jack. Whatever he did to you 2 months ago when he showed up to your house, is in the past, after today you can forget it and move on with your life. Go and do me proud, I'll be there with you, let's go!" You feel calmer and walk up to the locker room, you can see Mark waiting outside with your suitcase. 

"Grace, I thought you weren't coming! How have you been?" Mark uttered, he tries to hug you, you step back cautiously. Arizona comes and stands next to you protectively.

"I'm just here to get my stuff and leave Mark, I don't want any trouble." You say bluntly. 

You're just about to grab your suitcase when you spot your Dad walking down the hallway with your Mom and Auntie's. Your worst nightmare... 

"Anyway Mark, I've got a consult, so thank you for dropping off my things, I hope you and your girlfriend are happy together. If you'll excuse me I need to go." You blurted. 

You start to lead Mark down the other exit so he can avoid Derek, until Mark turns around and spots him...

"Derek! How ya been?!" Mark shouts.

Your Dad quickens his pace down the corridor, you see your Mom grab his arm and try to stop him, but he doesn't. Amelia starts to shout at him to stop, but it's obvious he's not listening.

"How dare you show your face again! I told you if I ever saw you again, I'd kill you! Stay away from my daughter! Haven't you ruined her life enough as it is?!" Derek yells.
