I can't live without you.

All you need is love

Pain, all you can feel is pain, even trying to open your eyes is too much, causing you to clamp them back shut, are you ready to come back, strong enough to wake up? Then you hear a small yawn and some shuffling.

"Morning baby." Arizona exclaims and she kisses your cheek gently. 

She gently brushes your hair and washes your face with a damp cloth. She grabs her perfume from her bag and dabs a small amount under your neck. She knows that the smell of her perfume is a comfort to you, it makes you feel safe. 

"Hey Grace, you have a visitor soon! Our little boy is going to make an appearance! I think Derek is going to bring him down with Meredith after lunch!" Arizona states.

All of your being wishes that you would just wake up and hold Arizona close, to remind her you've never been gone, but you're just not strong enough...

"I picked you out an outfit from my place Grace, you always loved this outfit, I thought you'd like to wear it." Arizona smiled.

"You know, the day of the storm, I actually had something so special planned.." She laughs.

"Me, Alex and April decorated the old spare room into a nursery, I bought you some of your own clothes and, well... I wanted you to move in with me Grace, I was going to ask you that day, you know..." Arizona sniffed.

"You know we're all waiting for you Grace, we're all here. Alex comes to visit you everyday, Timothy is being looked after by Meredith and Derek, he's getting stronger everyday. There are baby gifts everywhere, people from the hospital have gifted them to us, the nursey is full to the brim with bags! I'm forgetting to mention the endless amount of food that has been dropped off! You better wake up soon Grace, I can't eat all of these cakes on my own!" Arizona laughs, tears form in her eyes. 

"I'm trying to stay strong for you Grace, because that's what you would want me to do, this is what you need me to do, but I need you back now, I can't do this on my own anymore... You are my why Grace, the reason why I smile, why I get up everyday, why I carry on. But I miss my best friend, my partner in crime, the mother to my child, please come back to me baby..." Arizona starts sobbing and grabs a hold of your hand, tears drip onto your fingers.

You open your eyes very slowly, you adjust your eyes to the light and hazily look around. Only to see Arizona's head bowed and her sobbing uncontrollably by your bedside. She looks exhausted and at wits end. The desperation in her cries, and the faith in her words have brought you back.

You very slowly move your free hand and lift up Arizona's chin and wipe her tears. The pure look of joy and relief is almost tangible. She looks at you with her bright blue eyes, shining through the streams of fresh tears running down her cheeks.

"H, h, hey baby" You croak. 

"G, G, Grace?!" Arizona cries.

"Hi" You manage a weak smile, before Arizona embraces you strongly and kisses you hard on the lips.

Arizona sidles up next to you on your bed and you wrap your arms around her tightly.

"You have no idea how much I've wanted this Grace, how much I've missed you! Arizona whispers in your ear. 

"The answer is yes Arizona, yes, yes, 100 times yes" You whisper.

"What are you talking about Grace? Do I need to get someone?" Arizona states. She looks startled and sits up.

"Yes, I wanna move in with you, silly!" You laugh weakly and squeeze her hand.

"Oh, you heard that?" Arizona laughs. "Wait, that means you heard everything Grace!" Arizona looks up at you with so much love in her eyes.

"Well duh? I couldn't leave my girl all alone! You brought me back Arizona, you saved me." You start to cry gently, Arizona wipes the tears from your face and brings your lips to hers.

"I love you Grace, forever and always." Arizona sniffled. 

After you took some rest, and the relevant people did some tests on you and made sure that you were stable, you hear a quiet knock on the door. 

"Arizona, send whoever it is away, I can't take it if another intern takes my blood for the 400th time!" You laugh.

Arizona sits your bed up and pulls the blanket back over you, she walks over to the door trying to contain her excitement. She opens the door, and standing there is your Mom, Dad and Timothy.

"Hey Arizona, has Grace woken u... GRACE!" Meredith squeals. She drops the bags in the doorway and rushes over to you, embracing you strongly and kissing the top of your head.

"Mom" You start to cry and she embraces you again.

Then Arizona start to cry as well. She moves out of the way of the doorway, and standing there, is your Dad. He's holding a car seat, and in it, sits your perfect, tiny baby boy, sleeping soundly.

"My baby boy!" You start sobbing, Arizona wipes her tears and gently takes Timothy out of his car seat and she kisses him gently on the head.

"Okay angel, time for you to see your Mama!" Arizona sniffles.

She comes and sits next to you on your bed, and she places Timothy gently on your chest. The sweet baby smell immediately hits you, making you feel so much warmth and comfort. Timothy doesn't even cry, he opens his eyes and looks directly at you, he yawns and snuggles into the safety of your shirt. Snuffling every now and again, whilst he drifts off to sleep, in the comfort of your arms. 

Arizona falls asleep next to you, holding you tightly with one arm, and the other is resting gently on Timothy's back. 

Meredith takes a nap on the chair next to your bed, still clutching onto your hand. She is still exhausted, it's going to take some time before she can be completely recovered from the injuries she sustained during the storm. 

Derek is the only one still awake, he's perched on the end of your bed reading through some of your get well soon cards.

"Hey Grace, I want you to know this okay? You did good. Timothy, he's perfect, Arizona clearly loves you so deeply, that she's willing to put everything on the line for you. Not to mention Timothy. You two are going to make the most amazing parents, and Timothy is so lucky. Not to mention that you have built up an entire community of people in this hospital who care about you so deeply, you've impacted the lives of so many people here Grace. And I am so, so incredibly proud of you, and me and your mom, we love you so much." Derek comforted.

"I love you Dad, I'm so lucky to have such amazing parents. Thank you for always pushing me, pushing me to do my best, no matter what it took, and to make my own name for myself and to express myself in a way that I wanted." You sniffle.

"Now, time for you to get some rest sweetie! You look exhausted." Derek exclaims.

He opens the window in your room slightly and pulls the curtains. He pours you a fresh cup of water and kisses you gently on the top of your head. He gently takes Timothy from your chest and places him in the cot beside you and swaddles him tightly. He lowers your bed back down, Arizona doesn't even stir, he pulls the blanket up and covers you and Arizona. Arizona sleepily cuddles back down with you and holds you tightly and drifts back off to sleep. Derek gently wakes Meredith, who kisses you gently on the head and sleepily heads to the on call room before her rounds. Derek turns off the light and pulls the door gently shut.

"Sleep well sweetie, we'll see you tomorrow" Derek whispers.

You snuggle down with Arizona, exhausted by the days events. The comforting smell of her perfume wafts over you and comforts you like a soft blanket, you kiss her gently and doze off quickly. You feel happy and content... Everyone is okay, you are okay, everything is okay.
