Arizona performs a small surgery to try to stem some of the bleeding, and to stop you from bleeding out entirely. Derek assists as much as he can, whilst checking your baby and his breathing whilst cradling his tiny body into his broad chest, protecting him from everything.

Arizona manages to stem some of the bleeding, but you're going to need another surgery as soon as possible, not to mention your massive chest injury and how much damage there may be. Arizona breathes a sigh of relief, she checks your obs manually. She checks your pulse, pupil dilation and circulation. She relaxes against the wall and picks up your hand and grasps it tightly.

"Derek, I need Grace to be okay. I can't lose her!" Arizona sobs.

"Grace is going to be okay, I'm sure of it! She just gave birth to your baby, whilst being trapped under a ton of metal and she is still alive! Here, take Timothy and comfort him. I'm going to see if I can find us a way out." Derek exclaims.

Arizona takes Timothy and snuggles him onto her chest, trying to keep him warm and safe.

"Grace, if you can hear me, just know that you made it! We did it, we have our baby Grace. He's perfect! He's so tiny, and he even has your nose! We need you to pull through this Grace! I need you, our baby needs you, damn it, the whole hospital needs you!" Arizona cries.

You are awake, but subconsciously. You can hear Arizona speaking to you very faintly, you can hear Timothy snuffling into Arizona, you can't quite bring yourself to open your eyes just yet. The anaesthesia is wearing off slowly.

"Grace, please wake up!" Arizona pleads.

You start to fall back unconscious, but you feel yourself being stopped. You feel a tiny weight being put next to you in the crook of your arm, carefully avoiding the excruciating pain radiating from your chest. You hear Arizona start to cry softly and mumble words of reassurance to herself.

"Come on Grace, you can do this, we're right here." Arizona sobs.

You fight, harder than you've ever fought before, you try put the pain aside and try to find the strength, to fight for just a little longer. You can feel your babies heartbeat on your arm, Arizona's love is radiating, comforting you like a warm blanket.

You open your eyes slightly, your vision is blurred, you try to look down at Timothy, but can't move without excruciating pain. Arizona has her head bowed by your side, clutching your hand. She's covered in blood and looks exhausted and in pain. She's giving up, you so desperately want to reach out and shake her, tell her that you're okay, that you're here with her. No words come out, just a silence, your body is like lead and refuses to move.

You feel Arizona kiss you lightly on the lips and then hear her start to sob.

"You still wear the necklace I brought you when I first asked you to be my girlfriend, the first time you told me you loved me... Oh Grace." Arizona cries.

"Maybe, if I rewind Grace, if I take us back to that night, it might help you to wake up? It's worth a shot, the one night that we both treasure so deeply and a night where we felt so alive. I'll try Grace." Arizona laughs sadly.

6 months ago - the night Arizona asked you to be her girlfriend:

"Grace, may I have this dance?" Arizona smiles coyly.

You nod enthusiastically. She offers her hand, and leads you over to an arch entwined with flowers. She reaches up and picks a small lily and puts it in your hair. She puts one hand gently on your waist, and takes your hand. You ease into her hold and sway to the music. You are both flawless. In that moment, nothing else in the world matters, you could stay like this forever.
