It's your last day at work before you go onto maternity leave, you've decided to work as late into the pregnancy as you possibly can. You slowly get up and get ready, trying not to wake Arizona. You haven't been sleeping great and your back has been causing you a lot of pain. Arizona has been giving you massages to try and help, which has elevated some of the pain, she's been your rock throughout this whole pregnancy, she's so excited! You are still flipping between your Mom's house and Arizona's, but you mainly stay at Arizona's place during the week, and your Mom's at the weekends.

You put on a comfortable dress and pack yours and Arizona's bag's ready to take to hospital so you can get changed there. You make yourself a berry smoothie and settle down in the arm chair by the window. You open the window and hear the birds chirping and the smell of freshly cut grass wafts up your nose. The sun infiltrates through Arizona's sitting room and makes a soft glow on your face. You look down at your bump and feel your little boy kicking, obviously basking in the sunlight as well as you!

You hear soft footsteps approach the sitting room, you turn around to see Arizona bleary eyed in her robe admiring you from the door.

"Grace, you're glowing! Told you pregnancy glow was a thing!" She laughs. She comes over and sits on the arm of the chair and puts a hand on your bump and kisses you affectionately on the lips.

"There's got to be some bonus from being humongous all the time!" You retort. She laughs and strokes your hair fondly. You both stay in the moment, savouring the precious time together and holding each other close.

You both finish getting ready and Arizona drives you both into the hospital, you prepare for your last consults and surgeries before you go home to rest.

"Don't push yourself to hard today babe! I love you" She kisses you fondly and bends down to kiss your bump.

"We love you more, see you in a bit babe! I might see you in the gallery, when I perform my last surgery for months!" You whine.

You and Arizona embrace each other strongly part ways, you go to see your Mom's consult.

"Molly Peters, 23, benign tumour in her large intestine and is scheduled for surgery at 11:00." You recite from her charts.

Your Mom pulls you aside and hugs you hard, she tells you how proud she is, and how much she loves you and her unborn grandchild. She starts getting emotional and walks away before you see you her crying.

You get paged to the OR before you can catch her up in the corridor. So much for a quiet day you think to yourself. You start getting scrubbed in, to find out it's a complex neuro procedure being lead by your Dad.

You walk into the OR, Bohkee ties up your gown and puts on your gloves, you step onto the other side of the table, opposite your Dad.

"Benjamin Scout, 46, he has an extremely fragile aneurysm on his temporal lobe, I need your help in clamping the vein and also making sure that any surrounding tissues aren't damaged in the process." Derek states.

"Okay Dad, I've got this, do what you do best!" You laugh, Bohkee hands you a clamp and you finish up the surgery after 5 hours of constant standing and concentrating.

At the end of the surgery, everyone claps you and wishes you a comfortable and restful time off of work, and share their excitement of a new Grey-Sloan baby!

You message Arizona to tell her you're done with surgery, she tells you to meet her by the attendings lounge. You waddle upstairs and wait for her by the lounge. You're wondering what on earth she's up to.

You sit down on a nearby chair and rest your aching back and feet. You shut your eyes for a second, and open them to find Arizona smiling and standing in front of you holding a take-out bag.

"You got Chick-Fil-A?! Aww baby!! You know that's what I'm craving!" You smile.

"I know, I thought we could go and cosy up in the attendings lounge and watch some tv and try catch a bit of sleep before evening rounds? Plus, you've hardly eaten anything all day! I thought this would cheer you up!" Arizona puts her hand in your affectionally and squeezes it.

You sleepily walk into the lounge and Arizona locks the door, you both settle on the couch and Arizona starts to rub your back, you lean back into her and put your head on her chest. You both eat your take out whilst watching some cheesy comedy and you start to doze off.

Arizona flips the channels over to find a movie, when suddenly an alert warning pops up on the tv.

"EMERGANCY! ALL US STATES ARE IN A LCOKDOWN! TORNADO WARNING! PLEASE SEEK SHELTER NOW! STORMY WEATHER APPROCAHING FROM THE EAST! PLEASE TAKE COVER AND STAY INDOORS!"

"Omg, Grace?!" Arizona shakes you gently.

"Mhmm, what's going on baby, are you okay?" You ask wearily.

You rub your eyes and sit up. Arizona has tears in her eyes and is rocking back and forth. You glance over at the tv and you read the warning. You read it twice to make sure you're not seeing things. You briefly remember Arizona telling you about her fear of storms and her bad experiences.

"I can't, I can't, I can't breathe, Grace, I can't do this, we we need to, we need to, omg" Arizona says breathlessly and she holds her neck, you pull her back into your embrace and hold her tightly. You can feel her heart racing as well as your own.

You go over to the window to see rain hammering onto the fragile glass. You pull the window to look out and it flies open, you get sprayed with rain and wind and you try to close it, struggling against the force of the wind. It's pulling you forwards. Arizona leaps up and helps you to shut it securely. You both fall against the back of the wall, breathless and afraid.

Suddenly all of the hospital alarms start sounding and all doors slam shut automatically. An automated voice comes onto the overhead system, "ALERT, TORNADO AND STORM WARNING, PLEASE REMAIN IN THE HOSPITAL, REMAIN CALM AND STAY WHERE YOU ARE"

Arizona puts her head in her hands and starts sobbing loudly, you try to comfort her the best you can.

Even through the piercing alarms, you start to hear the wind rattle through the foundations of the hospital getting closer and the building creaking under the strain.

Arizona looks up at you through her blue teary eyes and grabs hold of your hand tightly.

"It's going to be okay Grace, right? I'm not going to let anything happen to you, I promise..." Arizona reassures you.
