Adjusting to a normal life was a sudden change of pace for Lara as after dedicating years to doing her father proud, she'd come to accept that she could not change what could've been as now upon her butler, Winston's wishes, she took up a normal life. In the borders of the manor, the young brunette wandered through her home, thinking of how she could leave her old life behind. Memories were fondled about her childhood about adventures before she was allowed to go out on expeditions. In the idleness of the manor, the senior resident cleaned to his heart's content whilst in the company of Lara's spouse.

Only months after moving back in to her home, Lara had afforded to spruce up the manor but kept artefacts and memorabilia to remind her of the joy she felt when embarking on dangerous adventures. While she wandered about, she stumbled upon Winston speaking to David all the way on the other end of the hall the three were in where Lara noticed her husband receive a piece of paper from the butler. Reading his expression, Lara distinguished something that marvelled David's face before her man scrambled off towards her before taking a sharp turn to a two-door to his left and stormed in, slamming the doors shut.

Curiously, Lara followed after to investigate the secrecy when the doors burst open. Hiding behind the open door, Lara pressed herself against the wall when hard footsteps trekked away from her before she slid into the room and approached a desk where a parchment of paper was left on the desk beside a card with an address on it that belonged to a foreign country. This concerned her that her husband was plotting to embark on a mission without her approval, let alone her say in the matter after the two agreed to not take up any expeditions of the sort post-honeymoon. Reaching for her phone, Lara quick-dialled her spouse's number and pressed the phone to her ear as she anxiously tapped the floor in anticipation of him picking up.

"Hello?" David answered, clearly unaware of who was ringing him at that moment.

"David? Just where do you think you're going?" Lara questioned with a growl.

"Uhh... p-picking up some fish from the market?"

"David..."

"Okay, okay! I'm not picking up fish. I, it's about a friend I owe. Alright? He did something for me a few years ago and I said I'd owe him big time. So, I gotta help him get these Yakuza off his ass for something he did to the boss' son by going to Shanghai."

"What did he do?"

"Cut off the kid's finger."

Lara winced at the thought of experiencing the pain of losing one's finger. She couldn't bear to linger on it any longer as she inquired where he planned on going and what he hoped to do once he arrived at his destination. She'd be lying to herself if she didn't miss the adventure, the danger. But the churning feeling in her stomach was more than just a bad feeling.

"Please come back in one piece." Lara begged as she bowed her head.

David chuckled lightly. "For you, baby, I'll give you the whole cake."

"Spare me your juvenile wit, please. Just, just hurry home. I love you."

"I know."

While his wife remained at home in England, David embarked on a journey to Shanghai to meet with an old friend of his to repay a debt. In his heart, this would be the last adventure before full retirement while the remains of Trinity made one last effort to stop David Croft. It was only a matter of time before the big news would be broken out to him: she was pregnant.
