"You look... very handsome." I murmured.

"Don't be so surprised." Nico laughed.

"I'm sorry, you're always so casual." He looked polished. He was wearing a grey suit combined with a white dress shirt. He never wore anything remotely smart, so yeah, I was surprised. A few of the buttons were undone, giving him that playful look he always had. His hair was styled and I had to say that was the weirdest thing of it all. "I mean... you always look good but now you... you look amazing."

"Thanks." He shrugged, hiding his bottom lip inside his mouth as he approached me. "You look very pretty, too." He kissed my lips softly. I wanted nothing more than to wrap my arms around him and let him undress me, let him kiss me all over my body. But he pulled away, I knew he had other plans.

"I'm worried about these heels." I chuckled, looking down.

"The walk isn't long." He whispered against my lips, placing a light kiss on them once again.

The elevator took us to the 43rd floor. There was this modern restaurant and bar that opened up to a huge terrace where tables were scattered. I stayed silent throughout the moment, Nico's hand in the lower of my back guiding me towards our table. It was near the balcony that separated us from the city. Everything was lit up with candles and dim lighting, plants all over the place making me feel as if I was in the highest tree of an exotic jungle.

My hands trembled a little as I sat, Nico watching every movement that I made as he did so in front of me. "What do you think?" He asked, a little unsure.

I swallowed, my heart beating fast as I turned to look at the view, the sun in the horizon behind the buildings. "Nico, I- I don't even know what to say."

He bit his lips nervously. "You like it?"

"Yeah." I whispered, my eyes not leaving the sky, a light breeze brushing my hair. "I'm just..."

"I knew you'd get overwhelmed." Nico sighed. "This is too much. I shouldn't have brought you here. You don't like it, you don't even like shopping. I don't know what I was thinking-"

"Hey." I grabbed his hand so he would stop spiraling. "It's perfect. I'm just... in shock. I wasn't expecting this today, I was... so stressed and frustrated this morning and suddenly I'm here." I shook my head, my lips a little open, trying to find the words. "Even if this is not... what I'm used to... I love it. I love that you took the time to do all this. I love it 'cause I'm with you."

"I wanted to do something special. I want you to remember this day." He let out a little breath. "I mean it when I say it, you're... you're the most important thing I have in my life. You changed it, you changed me... for the better, you know?"

I started breathing hard when Nico grabbed the seat of his chair and approached it so he was beside me on the table. "I was really lost before I met you, Cara. I thought that I was going to be forever... sad," he swallowed hard, grabbing my hand, "because I had it all and I was miserable. But then I met you and you made me so happy, and I lost so many things, and I went through so many shit, but still... I'm the happiest I've ever been." He bit his lips, suddenly amused. He examined my face, I was silently staring at him. "I'm- I'm not trying to scare you."

I shook my head. "I'm not scared."

"Good." He gave me a little smile. "I just wanted you to know how much you mean to me."

"Can I kiss you in here?" I whispered, looking around cautiously.

Nico let out a small laugh, making me warm inside. "Of course."

And I did. I cupped his cheeks and pressed my lips against his, feeling them soft and firm, making the butterflies in my stomach flutter. I pulled away, breathing hard. "I love you."
