A year and a half later

Cara's modeling career was doing great. I thought she'd go for the sport world but she actually learnt that she loved the runways. She had always enjoyed the spotlight and I think she thought of it as a performance, like the ones she did when she skated.

I did lots of photograph and art exhibits, since that was what I loved the most and I additionally, kept writing songs.

Since we were both so busy we didn't have time to travel as we promised, so one day I just booked two tickets to Geneva, packed two big suitcases without Cara noticing and I picked her up at a photo shoot, surprising her as we made our way towards the airport.

After three months of traveling around Europe, we came back home. Let's say, Justin was not as eager as Cara thought he'd be about her coming back.

"It's all your fault." Cara glanced at me as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm not leaving again."

I cracked up beside her in the front yard, her family around us. "Oh, so now it's my fault? I don't remember you complaining when we were watching the Eiffel Tower."

She was still glaring at me, sending glances to Justin from time to time, who looked at her out of the corner of his eye, hugging Ben's neck. It was weird seeing them so close now.

"He's just embarrassed." I pointed out, grabbing a drooled toy that Sandro was giving to me. He ran now and said some pretty bad words, and his father followed him everywhere he went sweating like a pig.

"Uh-huh. He just doesn't like you anymore. I'm his favorite brother now." Ben said smugly.

Cara gasped. "Never!" She leaned down to reach Justin's gaze one again. "Hey, buddy. Wanna see what I brought you?"

Justin seemed hesitant.

"It's very pretty." Cara sighed. "I guess I'll keep it for myself."

"Hey!" Oli jumped from the swing. "I can have it."

She laughed and picked Oli up, crashing him against her body as she kissed his cheek several times making loud noises. "I missed you so much, buddy."

Just then when she let Oli on the floor again, I noticed Justin pouting and reaching out for her, his little hand touching her shoulder. She glanced up at him and smiled wide, her eyes lighting up. "You want me to pick you up?"

Justin tried to hide his smile on Ben's shoulder and nodded.

Cara beamed.

And that was my girlfriend. The girl who loved her family to the core. The girl whose brother's little smile could make her the happiest girl on earth.

The girl who made me with those simple gestures, the happiest guy on earth.

I paced nervously around my room waiting for the clock to hit four o'clock.

What if she didn't like it?

Was it stupid?

Should I let it pass?

I had never felt so insecure about something I had created. At least, not since my last exhibit where I first kissed Cara.

God, why did time pass so slowly?

When there were only two minutes left, I pressed Cara's contact and called her.

I heard rummaging. "Bébé?"

"Hi. Wait a second. I'm getting into my car."

"Great! Turn on the radio!"
