We left for New Jersey and Liam and I were still all over each other, it was like we had just started dating again.
We were driving every else crazy; we couldn't keep our hands off each other. I'd lost my voice because of the night we'd had and it still hadn't come back fully yet.

Washington, Virginia Beach and Philadelphia went by without incident; I think it was the longest stretch the guys had gone without fighting on a tour. In New York we were busy all day.
They had a recording at David Letterman and that night they played the Academy.
We went to Providence on the tenth and Boston on the eleventh.

Being back in Boston was really unsettling; the last time they had played here I had gotten stabbed.
They didn't play the same venue, but I still felt sick being here; and it wasn't lost on Liam.
We had been sitting in the dressing room and I couldn't sit still.

"Babe, are y'alright?"

I jumped when he touched my thigh.

"Lyla?"

"I'm fine..."

"No y'ain't, you're all jumpy"

"I'm fine"

He just looked at me and I sighed, he knew I wasn't fine.

"Being here makes me nervous" I admitted

He frowned "Why?"

"Because I," I stopped, he looked so concerned, I sighed "Last time we were here...I...it was when...when I got stabbed" I finished quietly

"Oh Ly," he took my face in his hands "Nothing is gonna happen t'you"

"Promise?" I asked quietly

He nodded "I'll keep you safe"

"Pr-"

"I promise" He whispered

I wrapped my arms around him and he pulled me into his lap.
I leaned into his shoulder and just watched everyone in the room.
Guigs and Bonehead were both sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table, Noel was talking on the phone, probably to Meg; he was mad at Tony, probably for looking at him the wrong way. Tony was on his last straw with the entire band.

Creation, meaning Noel, had written up a contract for the entire band and the only ones who were safe from getting "sacked" as Liam put it, were both him and Noel; everyone else was disposable as far as they were concerned.
I think it was an easy way for Noel to tell Tony that in two weeks from now he was out and there was nothing he could do about it because it was in the contract.

Guigs and Tony were usually together all the time and even they were pissed off at each other; or Tony was pissed off at Guigs.

We left Boston that night after the gig and drove the six hours straight to Montreal for the next night; only after being held up at the Canadian border for forty five minutes while they searched the bus and all of our stuff in the middle of the night.

We stood outside the bus and I wrapped my arms around myself and shivered.

"Where's your jacket?"

My teeth chartered as Guigs came over with a smile.

"I didn't think they would make us wait outside while they did this, it's on the bus"

He opened his jacket and wrapped me in it. I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer; he was so warm.

"Where's Liam?"

"Over there talking to the border guy"

"Ain't you from here, shouldn't y'be used to the cold?"
