We got home and took a few days to ourselves before we took the trek to London for another Top of the Pops appearance.
Liam and I rode with Guigsy and when we got to the television studio I couldn’t help but notice the absence of a certain someone.

“Where’s Tony?” I asked holding Liam’s hand as we walked in the back door.

“Marcus sacked ‘im a week ago” Liam shrugged

Really?”

Guigsy nodded “Alan’s the new kid in town” he beamed

“Is he good?” I asked pushing my sunglasses on top of my head

Liam nodded as we joined the others; the guy with the short dark hair and huge…okay maybe not huge, but…well-built upper body I assumed was Alan; he looked about ready to lose it, but the others didn’t seem to take any notice.

I let go of Liam’s hand as Noel pulled him away to discuss some “business”. Alan stayed stationary with his hands stuffed in his jeans pockets.

I chuckled a little lighting myself a smoke and looking at him “Nervous?”

“Is it that noticeable?” he asked me worriedly

“Have they started with the piss taking yet?” I asked nodding towards the brothers

Alan shook his head

“Then you’re fine” I smiled,

“You must be…Meg?” he hesitated

I bit the inside of my cheek and shook my head “Noooo,” I scowled “I’m Liam’s wife

“Lyla” he nodded

I smiled flicking my ashes into a tray sitting nearby “Yeah” I nodded

“You’ve known everyone for a while then?”

I shrugged “Yes and no”

He frowned curiously

“I met Liam around this time last year then one thing led to another and next thing I know I’m Mrs Liam Gallagher”

“Wow...” Alan just looked at me with wide eyes

I shrugged scrunching up my face as I stubbed out my cigarette “I only married him for his money”

I laughed when I turned around and saw the look on his face “I’m kidding, but if you picked up a magazine that’s probably what it says.”

“Among other things” he nodded

"Most of which are untrue most likely; or only half true"

"How can it be half true?"

"Uh, well...I miscarried in December, but it wasn't Guigsy's love child"

"I'm sorry" he said quietly

"I've learned to cope" I smiled "So," I changed the subject "You seem to be fairing a lot better than their last drummer, Noel must like you"

He nodded "He asked me to be in the band, I hope he does"

"Never know" I muttered

He looked at me worried and I shook my head. "I don't mean to freak you out, I just meant he's a little....closed off, but if he doesn't like you believe me, you'll know"

"You seem quite sure of yourself" Alan mused.

"I am" I nodded

"Why's that?"
