"I...dont know," I sit on the end of my bed as Amy sighs.
"Samantha, you've got two choices; yes, or no. I don't want to choose for you. I want you to be happy. And if saying yes makes you happy, then I'm all for it."
"I know, I know," I sigh. "But what if he doesn't feel the same?"
"Honey, are you blind or something? That boy loves you with everything in him. He can't stop. I doubt he ever will. You're perfect for each other. You're never as happy as you are with him. And that's a fact."
"No, I seen him with Aleisha in the courtyard today. I can't even compare to her. She's a masterpiece. It's pretty obvious they still have a thing for each other, and I don't want to be in the middle of it. Let them be, I'll soon be a distant memory." I slide the photograph to the side, allowing it to gently fall to the desk top.
"No. He doesn't like her. Ask your brother."
"Dylan doesn't care about any of this. He's just a child." I lie on my bed, face down, and let the tears trickle down my face.
"Sam, when you see Luke, what do you automatically feel?" Amy asks, sitting beside me.
"I don't know. Happiness, love, faith. I used to. Now, hurt, guilt, pain, discomfort. It's a tragedy."
"What do you think of when someone mentions his name?"
"Smiles, laughs, love. Everything good."
"Then, why are you sitting here moping around when you could be fighting for another chance? I'll be damned if you think I'm going to let you sit here, wasting all these tears." She pulls me up by the arm, tossing my shoes at me.
"Amy, what are you doing?" I ask, taken aback.
"We're driving to that little shits house, and you're going to have makeup sex." She clutches my purse under her arms, running to the front door.
"Where are you going?" My mum asks as we approach the door.
"We're just going for a drive. We'll be back soon, I promise."
"Samantha, you know how I feel ab-"
"Yes, Mum, I know. But this is serious. I love you!" I give her a small kiss, then exit behind Amy.
"Hurry!" She revs the engine to her car. Once I'm safely buckled in the passenger seat, she speeds the direction of Luke's house.
"Amy, I'm not so sure about this." My stomach is doing twirls, and twists, something I've never felt before.
"What are you talking about?"
"My stomach..it-it feel queasy."
"We're almost there." We pull into Luke's drive, noticing only his car. "Looks as if he's the only one home." Amy gets excited over the smallest things.
"Yeah, but what if he's sleeping with Aleisha? I don't want to barge in; "hey, Luke. I'm back. I wanna talk after you're done sleeping with the biggest slut in school." I can't do that," I giggle.
"No, I know. But you can knock on the door. And if she is in there, show her who's got the body." Amy nudges me with her elbow, giving me a wink. "A sexy one at that."
I love my best friend to death.
"Here goes nothing," I sigh. I open the car door, stepping out. I silently close it, as to not startle whomever is inside.
I find myself standing in front of Luke's house door. I ball my shaking hands into a fist, and slowly knock on the door.
I hear shuffling around inside, and groans. Assuming there's someone else, I turn on my heels and begin walking away. As I hear the click of the doorknob turn, I slowly turn to be face to face with Luke.
"Hi, Luke," I nervously say.
"Samantha," he smiles a little, wiping his eyes. He's wearing grey sweatpants, a white baggy shirt, and socks. He looks absolutely amazingly beautiful to me.
"Are you crying?" Of course he is, stupid. What kind of question is that?
"N-no." Luke hides the tissue in his hand, clearing his throat. Just a small cold is all.
"Right," I chuckle. "Cold."
"Do you want to come in?"
I look over my shoulder at Amy. She gives me a thumbs up and a smile.
"I'd be glad to." I follow behind as we walk inside.
So many memories, so many talks.
"Sam, I need to tell you something." Luke sighs, sitting beside me on the sofa.
"What is it?" I ask, carefully.
