Luke's P.O.V

Monday rolls around, and I couldn't be happier. Of course, I'm tired because of school, but I'm excited for after school. After school, Mum, Jack, and Ben had agreed to go with me to pick out an engagement ring for Samantha.

I've had this thought out for a serious amount of time, and now I think it's acceptable to happen.

"Hey, Luke," Amy approaches as she sits at the lunch table with me.

"Hey, Amy." I smile.

"How is she?"

"She's doing good," I respond.

"I feel so bad. I haven't been to see her in a while. She probably thinks I forgot about her." Amy opens her water bottle, then takes a sip. "I've been extremely busy. I've had soccer practice, work, and college applications. Plus, I'm prom dress shopping alone."

"Amy, it's okay. I'll let her know," I chuckle

"How's Dylan?"

"I don't know. I haven't spoke to him in a while." I shut my maths book, sitting it aside.

"He's not really talked to anyone." Amy stares off into the distance. "I hope they're both okay."

"Their parents are going off on a business trip that could take up to a year." I reveal.

Amy parts her lips, looking shocked. "Are you serious?"

"Sadly, I am. She tried to explain, but they wouldn't listen."

"Even her dad?"

"Yep, even her dad." I put my MATHS book in my school bag, zipping it up. "I thought he'd stay."

"Maybe they'll change their minds." Amy stands.

"Not likely. You know how her mum is." I say.

Amy and I walk to our class together.

"So, I hear you're planning to marry her?"

"Well, I have to ask her first. I'm going today to buy the ring."

"Ooh. Sounds fun! Maybe I'll visit her whenever I get done with practice."

"Maybe. I hope." I smile.

"It sucks dress shopping alone. I'm not sure if I'll even go this year. The one person I go for won't be there," Amy sighs as she takes Sam's spot beside me.

"Hey, she may get to come."

"What do you mean?"

"I want her to go, but I know she'll refuse if she's in her wheelchair still, or can barely walk. She's already missing graduation, and has to wait for college. I was thinking if she can't come to it..."

"It can come to her. Oh my! That's a great plan!" Amy agrees with excitement. "Except there's one problem."

"Yeah?"

"How are we going to fit all 1200 seniors in her two story house?"

"Honey, there's this thing called 'rent-a-building' that I could rent."

"True, but do you think the school would let you?"

"I don't care if they do or don't, I'm going to." I say. I want Sam to be able to have her last prom. Her last school dance.

"Do you think many people will come?" Amy asks, retrieving her materials.

"Some may. I don't care if they do or not. I just want to do this for her." I write down my ideas on a slip of paper.

"You can come with me dress shopping!" Amy jumps up and down excitedly in her seat.

"I'm not reall-"

"Oh come on! After all, it is for Sam."

"Alright," I sigh, "I suppose. When?"

"Uhm, when can you?"

I open my mouth to speak, only to be cut off.

"Today. After you're done with everything. That's when. I have the perfect dress for her. Meet me at the mall by around seven thirty."

"Uhm, I may be late."

"If so, just call me."

"Sure," I say.

I just hope my plan works, and that she will marry me.
