After dinner, Liz says she has some errands to run. So, its just Luke and I.

"Bye, Mum." Luke says giving Liz a kiss on the cheek.

"Now, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone. Understand, Mister?" Liz says.

Luke embarrassingly nods his head as Liz exits.

When the door is completely closed, I ask, "What was that about? Did she catch you in bed with someone?" I laugh at the thought.

"Almost. We were almost in bed together." Luke says.

I stop laughing and clear my throat.

"Wait, seriously? Who?"

"I'm not telling you."

"Why not?"

"Because. It doesn't matter." He annoyingly says walking back to his room.

I stand frozen. I don't feel like dealing with his BS right now.

"Are you coming, or are you going to stand there like an idiot?" He asks.

I turn and grab my book bag and purse. I slip my shoes on, and head for the door.

From behind, Luke shuts the door and takes my things. He drops them beside the door and, pushing me against the door, sternly says, "Where do you think you're going?"

My palms begin to sweat, eyes dart the room.

I haven't been this close to Luke in years

I clear my throat and say, "Home. I have to meet Amy."

I try for my bags, but am immediately stopped.

"Uh-uh. You're staying." Luke grabs my wrist and pulls me to his room. He closes the door behind him.

"I don't think the door should be closed." I say, scared.

"Relax, Sam, I'm not going to rape you. I just want to talk." Luke, grabbing my hands, says.

"Well, can't we do that with the door open? I mean, your mum did leave."

Luke sighs and reluctantly opens the door.

"Thank you," I say as he sits back on the bed. "What did you want to talk about?"

"Our friendship."

"What do you mean? You've moved on. I've accepted it. There's nothing more to it." I say. Even though it hurts, it's the truth.

"Maybe, but can we try to be friends again?" Luke lies back on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

"I don't know, Luke. We're two totally different people now. I mean, we're much older and..I don't want it to happen again." I say laying beside him.

"Maybe it wont. Samantha, come on. All I'm asking for is another try." Luke turns his head to look at me.

His eyes are enough to manipulate anyone.

"Fine." I say, sighing.

Luke flashes his million dollar smile.

"Good."

I smile back.

I can't let this happen again. Not when I'm working on fixing myself.
