I step into the principles office, ready for hell. This is the second time this week I've been in here. The first time was for cursing out my History teacher for harassing me.

"Well, Samantha, please have a seat." I do as told. Thankfully, the head principal is out for lunch.

I look around the room, as if I've never been here before.

"It seems as if this is your second time here this week." Mr. Cash, the vice principal, says. He sits my file aside and situates himself. "One more, your suspended. You understand that, don't you?"

I look at him and nod. "Yes, I understand."

"Why are you here, again, Samantha?" Mr. Cash sits properly in his seat, waiting my response.

"Because. I like to rebel, ya know?" I, sarcastically, say. "It's kinda my life style."

Mr. Cash sighs before rubbing his temple. "Your teacher called, Ms. Hurt. I'm afraid you, and Mr. Hemmings both have after school detention." He picks around in his desk before finding two pink slips. Once he starts writing Luke's name, I speak.

"Mr. Cash, please, don't write Luke up. He did nothing but laugh at what I said. It's all, 100 percent, my fault. Don't give him detention, again." I reach out, hoping he'll put the pen down.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Hurt. Rules are rules."

"Mr. Cash, Luke is innocent. I promise."

Mr. Cash studies me for a moment. He sighs, then crumbles the second slip up, throwing it away.

"Fine. But just this once."

"Thank you so much." I grab my things, take my pink slip, and walk towards the door.

"You'll do anything to keep your friends out of trouble, won't you?" Mr. Cash asks, laughing.

"For Luke, yes. He's too innocent. And not just anything." I turn the knob and step out. Once I close the door, I show Luke my slip. "Detention, again. Yay!"

Luke chuckles and reads the slip.

"Second time? Damn, Sam. When are you gonna learn?"

"The third time I am in there. One more time, I'm suspended."

"Well, lets see what he says about me, shall we?"

Before Luke turns the knob, I grab his shoulder.

"It's Mr. Cash. He'll let you off, easy."

Luke smiles, then enters.

-

I wait a full twenty minutes before Luke returns.

"Why, Sam?"

"Why what?" I ask, questionable.

"Why would you tell him to let me off?" Luke walks over to me.

"You had nothing to do with it. You're completely innocent."

"Well," Luke slips a pink slip out from his back pocket, "I may have said some things to get one."

"Luke Robert!" I smack his shoulder. "Liz is going to kill you!"

"Like you said, she doesn't have to know." Luke winks and smirks before walking up the steps.

I smile and follow behind.

I love Luke more than anything. The fact he'll do anything for me is amazing.
