Luke's P.O.V

What I said to Sam, it was a lie.

That's not what I meant by the picture and caption.

She just made me so angry, I couldn't hold it back.

It's Thursday, and second period.

Stares are coming from the opposite direction of the halls. One figure stands alone, then another joins. I knew instantly it was Amy and Sam.

She told me not to talk to her ever again.

I know everyone is staring at her from my post I quickly deleted after Sam had seen it.

Sam, Amy, and I enter the room at different times.

I, like always, take my seat beside Sam.

Her eyes are puffy and red. Her hair is in tangles in a bun. Her clothes consist of an oversized sweatshirt, and sweatpants. To me, she still looks beautiful.

"Good morning, class," the teacher says closing the door at the final bell.

"Good morning," we groan back, except Sam.

The teacher takes attendance, and quickly gets us started on our assignment.

"Now, you'll be working with your assigned partner. Since an extra student was added," he grabs his attendance sheet and looks it over a while, "Samantha Hurt, you'll be working with Luke Hemmings. Amy Gonzalez, you'll be working with Meghan Hensley."

Sam nods her head while fidgeting with her pencil. Amy and Meghan seem to be fine with the idea.

"Quickly, start working."

I grab the paper and read over it a few times.

Its hard to do an assignment when you're not supposed to talk to your partner.

"Fuck it," I mumble. "Sam, I know you're mad at me. I know, I probably hurt you way more than your smacks did me. But we have a task to complete. Hate me, I don't care. Just..help me with this." I say towards her.

Sam blankly stares at the paper.

I sigh and sit back. I guessingly write down an answer.

"It's C." Sam says filling her paper out. "The answer is C. A²+B²=C², which is the Pythagorean Theorem." She drops her pencil. "I'm not as stupid as I seem."

"I didn't say you were." I say dropping my pencil, as well.

"Then don't act like it." Sam scoots her chair back, and asks to use the restroom. Granted.

"I'm sorry, Samantha. I can't stop falling for you."
