Sam's P.O.V
"He just...gave it to you?" I ask Amy as she tells me the conflict from outside.
"Yeah," Amy places the picture on my computer desk. "He was crying, or about to cry, then he drove off. What'd you do?"
"I didn't. Liz did." I hand Amy the note as she reads over it.
"Why would she say that? Wasn't it supposed to be a secret?"
"Supposed to." I grab the picture, looking it over. "God, he was so happy." I brush my thumb over Luke's side. A tear falls from my eye, landing on the picture.
"You have a chance, still."
"No, I don't. He said he's done with me. For good." I throw the picture in the trash can, watching it slowly fall.
"Sam, he was angry."
"Exactly, the truth comes out when you're angry." I lie on my bed trying to stop the tears.
"Sammy, he didn't mean it. I promise. He loves you. I see it, feel it, every time I'm with you guys."
"It sucks, though. I gave him all of me. I knew this would happen." I burry my head in my pillow and let the tears fall
"Sam, no." Amy rubs her hand up and down my back.
"Yes, Amy," I muffle, "all he wanted was sex. And I was an idiot and gave it to him."
Amy lies beside me, covering me up. "You'll be okay."
"Not just yet." I say, closing my eyes.
I drift into a deep sleep, waking Monday morning.
__
Amy and I pass the halls, my head is held high, only my right side feels empty."Amy, I don't know how much longer I can do this." I mumble.
I see Luke at his locker, aggressively throwing his books in.
"Dammit," he slams his locker door shut, turning to me.
I give him a small smile, and a long look.
He flashes me a short look, and small smile.
I can hear him mumble, but I can't make out the words.
He sadly walks down the hall to first period.
"Amy," my voice cracks. "He's hurting."
"Yeah, I know, but it's his fault." Amy checks her phone, "the bell is going to ring. I've got to go. I love you."
I give her a hug, and grab my things. I walk into the same class as Luke, and take my seat beside him.
He's tapping his pencil against the paper that has words on it. I sit beside him, and lie my head down.
"Shit," Luke mumbles, crumbling the paper.
I watch as his hand flows freely on the paper.
"Class.." the teacher begins.
I ignore his words, and watch Luke.
My heart breaks incredibly small.
"I'm sorry," I whisper to him
He looks over at me with a hurt expression. He opens his mouth to speak, but I get up and walk out of the room.
"I can't do this." I slide down the wall in the hall. "I can't.."
I need Luke.
I need love.
