CHAPTER 13: Whispers Find A Way

The next morning Caleb wakes up. It takes him a minute to realize where he is. Ashley's room looks different at day. He looks to the right, to the bed where Ashley slept. She's not here anymore. He decides to snoop around a little. He finds a notebook with 'songs' written on the cover. He looks through a few pages. They look like song lyrics.

Caleb: *thinks* Who knew Ashley liked song writing. She probably wouldn't mind if I leant it. I've been having trouble with thinking of lyrics lately.

Caleb puts the notebook in his backpack, and leaves the room. It's afternoon. Corki and Jodi are in their room. Sun Hi is on a date with Linc. Someone knocks on their door. Jodi opens it. It's Alex.

Alex: Hey, is umm, Corki maybe here?

Jodi: Corki, it's your lover!

Corki: Jodi! Stop it! Hi Alex.

Alex: Hi! I was wondering if you'd maybe wanted to take a walk with me?

Corki: I would love to!

Alex and Corki walk through a park. They end up in an open spot with a fountain.

Alex: Hey, um, so, uh, can we maybe talk about...

Corki: ... our kiss?

Alex: Yea, was it okay? Too soon?

Corki: It was perfect!

Alex: Oh, well, in that case. Corki, would you maybe want to, if you want to, be my girlfriend?

Corki: aww Alex! I would love to!

Alex: Yay! That's... awesome! Can I maybe kiss you again?

Corki: *nods*

Corlex kisses again. It feels magical. They pull out and smile at each other.

Alex: I've actually been working on some music when you were gone! Wanna hear?

Corki: Of course!

They walk back to Mackendrick. They talk about their bands.

Corki: How has L3 been. Did you guys do any performances lately?

Alex: We didn't do a lot of concerts. Randy let us do 3 in total.

Corki: That's not that bad right?

Alex: 3 concerts during the entire summer? And then seeing XO-IQ do atleast 4 concert per week? Sounds like not that much to me!

Corki: Okay, that's true. But I hope you at least had fun while doing them.

Alex: Of course, I did! Music is my everything! And fashion of course. And Yoga. Okay my everything exists of a lot of things.

At the end of the conversation, they have reached Alex's dorm. Darmala isn't at the dorm. Corlex goes inside and Alex lets Corki hear his new music. Halfway through the song Darmala walks in. He sits down and listens with them. When the sing ends, he asks:

Darmala: Did you make that? Sounds hella good.

Alex: In fact, I did! I'm glad you like it.

Darmala: Of course. By the way, hi Corki! I haven't seen you in a long time.

Corki: Hey! How have you been?

Darmala: I've been fine. Can I ask you something, because I need to know; Did Jodi tell you anything about like me? Anything?

Corki: Sorry to disappoint you, but no. You can just ask her, right?

Darmala: I did, but she walked away. I just don't know wha-

Corki's phone starts ringing.

Corki: *looks at here phone and sees that Sun Hi is calling her* I'm sorry, I have to take this.

Corki walks out of the room. On her way she passes Linc, who enters the dorm.

Darmala: Hey Linc. What's up?

Linc: Well actually, a lot.

Alex: What is it?

Linc: Sun Hi, I mean, she gets jealous so easy. Now she's mad at me because I'm doing a Science project with another girl.

Darmala: Girls... if only we could understand them.

Alex: Yea right.

Darmala: You have nothing to be sad about. Our friend Alex here got a girlfriend.

Linc: You finally made your move on Corki? Congrats mate!

Alex: Thank you!

Linc: Had any luck with Jodi lately?

Darmala: Nothing really. Last time we talked she walked away because Corki send her a text. And Corki said she didn't say anything about me during the summer. I think it's hopeless.

Linc: Don't give up on it. Sun Hi and I hated each other, and look at us now. At least Jodi doesn't hate you.

Darmala: That's true, but still.

Alex: She'll come around. I'm sure.

Corki walks back into the dorm. What L3 doesn't know is that Corki heard everything they said. Sun Hi told her to spy on them to hear if they were talking about her.

Corki: I have to go. You know, The usually Sun Hi-emergencies. Okay... Bye!

Alex: Oh okay. Bye!

They smile at each other, and then Corki walks away.
