While on his way to Linc’s dorm, Darmala sees a poster hanging on the wall. DJ Maxwell, the same DJ who organized Band Blast, is organizing a new competition: the WBC (World Band Competition). Darmala doesn’t think twice, rips the poster off the wall and puts it into his pocket. As soon as he arrives at Linc’s dorm he takes it out of his pocket and shows it to Linc and Alex, who also happened to be there.
Darmala: Forget the Ashley plan, look at this! *Shows poster* if we compete and win, people will notice us for sure. They will line up to give us tours! What do you guys think?
Alex: Hell yes! Let’s do this!
Linc: Hmmm… Okay sure. BUT, we have to keep this really quiet, because otherwise XO-IQ is going to compete too… Not that they could compete with us of course, but you get what I mean.
Darmala: Of course.
Alex: Sure, will do!
Unfortunately for Linc, Sun Hi and Caleb both follow DJ Maxwell on Instagram, and have seen the announcement for the competition. XO-IQ is meeting up to decide if they are going to compete.
Ashley: Do you need to pay money to compete?
Sun Hi: According to the website, nope.
Ashley: Then what do we have to lose?
Corki: Well, what if we lose? I’m sure Mr Stone doesn’t want to go on a world tour with a band that recently lost a band competition!
Ashley: True, but still… If we win, we will be even more popular, and more people will go to the tour!
Caleb: How about we just do rock, paper, scissors?
Jodi: Sure. Who against who?
Sun Hi: I don’t know, just do Jodi against Ashley, I guess.
Ashley: Best of three?
Jodi: Okay.
The first round: Jodi does rock, Ashley scissors. Jodi wins the first round. Second round: Jodi and Ashley both do paper, then Jodi does rock, and Ashley wins by picking paper. Ashley wins the second round. Round three: the round that will decide everything. Jodi and Ashley both do rock, then both do scissors. After that, Jodi does scissors, and Ashley does… Rock. Ashley wins. XO-IQ is going to the WBC. Caleb, Sun Hi and Ashley are both cheering very loudly, and after a few seconds Corki and Jodi join in too, just a little less enthusiastic.
Ashley: This is awesome!! BUT, we have to keep this quiet, because otherwise L3 is going to compete too… Not that I’m scared of them anyways, but you get what I mean.
Caleb: Got it!
Jodi: For sure!
Sun Hi: Ahh this is so exciting!! *grabs phone to start blogging*
Corki: SUN HI! This is what Ashley meant! I know it’s going to be hard, but the competition is in only 4 days, so just try to control yourself.
Jodi: Wait- 4 DAYS? We are never going to finish the songs, outfits and stages in 4 days!
Ashley: Of course we can! We just need to plan it well. Corki, can you make a schedule? Everything included.
Corki: On it!
Ashley: Caleb, do you have any beats ready?
Caleb: Always.
Ashley: Send them all. I’ll get to writing. Jodi, if you just start with the outfits, you will finish them in time, I’m sure! And Sun Hi… Control yourself.
Sun Hi: Pff, like I have 0 control over myself…
Everyone looks at Sun Hi and raises an eyebrow.
Sun Hi: Okay sure…
Ashley: Awesome! Team XO-IQ, we can do this!!
