CHAPTER 17: Losing It

Sun Hi, Jodi and Corki are at their dorm. Corki invited Alex to come too. They are playing some Uno. Corki is about to win when someone knocks on the door and immediately walks in. It's Ashley.

Ashley: This dude! I trust him enough to stay alone in my room for once and he starts going through my stuff. He even steals something! Can you believe it?! I swear, I'm SO close to just exploding. I could really just snap his neck!!

Alex: Wow, calm down.

Ashley: Who are you to tell me to calm down.

Corki: Ashley, this is Alex.

Ashley: Oh... You're Corki's boyfriend. Sorry, as you might've noticed, I'm not in the best mood right now.

Jodi: What happened?

Ashley: Remember when I told you that Caleb slept at my dorm? Turns out he went through my stuff and took one of my notebooks with him. Those lyrics you just sang, we're mine. And then when I confront him about it he tries to lie about it. I just- UGH.

Ashley lets herself fall on Jodi's bed.

Alex: Caleb and stealing?

Sun Hi: That's not okay.

Corki: Now what?

Ashley: I don't know, just said that 'I just can't with him' and then I left. I just don't understand. Why? Like, what does he gain from it?

Corki: Well, technically he gained a world tour from it.

Jodi: That's not really helping Corki.

Corki: Sorry...

Alex: Caleb was invited here too right? So he might be here soon.

Ashley: Yea, in that case I should probably leave.

Right at that moment someone knocks on the door.

Corki: Who is it?

Caleb: It's Caleb!

Caleb comes in.

Caleb: Oh, um, Ashley, I'm of glad you're here-

Ashley: I was just leaving.

Ashley walks around Caleb, out of the room. She goes into her own dorm. Caleb makes his way into the girls dorm.

Caleb: So... World tour. Yay!

Jodi: Ashley told us what you did.

Sun Hi: That's not okay.

Alex: Not cool man.

Caleb: Oh come on. I didn't really mean to do it. It just, happened. But I'm really sorry. I want to make it up to her, but I don't know how.

Corki: Let's make a plan then!

Sun Hi: For what?

Corki: For Caleb to make up with Ash. She seem really mad, so we need to come up with something big.

Alex: Didn't Caleb pretty much steal a song form her? Why doesn't he write her a song to kin of give it back?

Jodi: That's genius! Can you do that?

Caleb: I think I can, yes. It will take sometime though.

Sun Hi: You can take your time, but in the main time you'll have to deal with an angry Ashley, so on that note you might want to hurry.

Caleb: Was it bad?

Jodi: She could snap your neck.

Caleb: Oh god.

Jodi: Yea...

Caleb: In that case, I'm going to work on it right now! Good night guys, and thanks for helping!

Caleb leaves and goes to his own dorm. He immediately starts working on the song. It actually goes better than he expected. 10 minutes later already has a beat, and a chorus. He was just about to start writing the first verse, when someone's at the door.

Caleb: Come in!

The door opens and to Caleb's surprise it's Ashley standing in the hallway.

Caleb:*quickly hides the song he wrote* Ashley? What- Why are you here?

Ashley: I realized you still have my notebook. Give it back.

Caleb: Oh, right. I have it here... Somewhere.

Caleb starts to search around the room. He throws around clothes, and some empty chip bags, and some magazines. 2 minutes later he is still searching for it.

Ashley: Don't tell me you lost it.

Caleb: I, uh, I think I kinda...

Ashley: You- Seriously, what is wrong with you?!

Before Caleb can say anything, Ashley walks away.

Caleb: *thinks* Okay Caleb, this song better be the best song ever.
