Jake's POV

Our mid terms finished a week ago and I had planned to break up with Addie soon after our drama exam. I waited for her to walk through the front door of the building and enter the elevator like she usually does. It was our last day at school before mid term break and I wanted to get over with the crap I was going through with her! 

When she entered the elevator, I followed her and she quickly pressed the first floor button so no one else could enter.

"Hey Jake." She said in her sweet yet annoying voice that I found really hard to bare at that moment. Why did she have to be so sweet and innocent? I mean would it hurt to be bad and bitchy?! 

"Hey....uh we need to talk." I said and scratched the back of my head. 

"I'm listening....." She answered and I took a deep breath before speaking again. 

"This thing we have.....I don't think it's gonna work out." I said as a matter of factly and hoped she wouldn't ask a lot of questions and I would be done with this but she decided to ask questions instead!

"Why not? I mean what's wrong with me?" She added in her annoying voice that made me want to bang my head on the elevator door!

"Nothing! Really, you're fine.....it's about me. We don't connect like we're supposed to you know......I mean I'm the asshole type and you're such a sweet and nice girl. I feel like it's not fair on you to have someone like me, you deserve someone who's sincere and loves you back." I explained in a way that was impossible to misunderstand but obviously she just HAD to ask more questions! 

"So you don't like me?" 

"No I'm in love with someone else." I added. I know I sounded like an asshat but I had to do it. 

"Who?" 

"Mia......" I answered and she looked down at her pink strawberry milkshake while poking it with the straw inside the plastic cup. 

"What does she have and I don't?" She asked after a while and the elevator door opened but I pressed the basement button and the door closed again. 

"An attitude.....It's just that you're so nice that I feel weird. I've always dated girls who have strong opinions and a big mouth and you agree with everything I say which makes matters worse! I'm sure you can understand that......" I looked at her with hope and what she did next was so unexpected that I had to take a few minutes to absorb the information. 

She poured her strawberry milkshake over my head and stormed out of the elevator. I sighed and walked out behind her. 

"She did not understand that." I said to myself and went to the bathroom. I washed the gooey milkshake out of my hair and finger dried them before going to class. 

Mia's POV 

It was the last day of school before mid term break started so we decided to make plans for our holidays at lunch. We settled ourselves at our usual table as I opened my bottle of orange juice. 

"Where do you wanna go this time?" Mike asked no one in particular and nibbled on his chocolate chip cookie. 

"Have you guys been to Rosewood Island?" Nate asked

"No" Jake answered and the girl shook their heads. 

"What about you Mia?" Nate asked me. 

"I went there when I was like 3 but I don't remember the place at all!" I stated.
