Why's Jakey so sleepy?

Mia's POV

I got up a bit early for school and decided what to wear. I took out two shirts from my closet and compared them, in the end I went for a black one with silver swirls on it. I got dressed and let my hair loose in waves.

After having a cup of coffee, I walked upto my car and drove to school while noticing the surroundings for the first time. The trees beside the road swayed lightly as I parked my car at the usual spot. I picked up my bag and hung it over my shoulders.

I opened my locker to check my schedule and the first period was Physics. I hate Physics. Well not really, Jake sits next to me.

What the hell Mia?

I actually felt like slapping myself but decided against it because that would clearly make people think I'm psycho.

I slammed my locker shut as the girls approached me.

"So, did you give the Jake thing a thought?" Rachel asked without even greeting me.

"No why would I? It's not like I've made a final decision about him." I clarified but the girls didn't buy it.

"Mia. Face it, you like him!" Rebecca added.

"Maybe... But that doesn't change the fact that I can't trust him." I answered as the bell rang and I made my way to class without talking to them any further.

I entered the class and noticed that Jake was missing, he wasn't in his usual seat. I placed my books on the table and took my seat as the teacher entered the class and closed the door behind her.

She began her lecture and I listened to her with undivided attention but something caught my eye. Through the glass of the door I noticed Jake walking towards the class like a zombie. He was practically dragging himself to class. He kept walking until he bumped into the door real hard. The teacher opened the door as he mumbled a 'sorry'. I let out a little laugh as he took his seat. The teacher rolled her eyes and continued her lecture.

I looked at Jake, he opened his book and placed it on his face. I had my 'what the hell is he doing' expression on as he stayed like that for the rest of the class until the teacher asked him a question.

"Jake! Will you please repeat what I just said since you're so attentive?"

The book on his face suddenly fell as he sat up. He was clearly sleeping.

What the hell is wrong with him?

I whispered the summary of the lecture to him and he quoted my words. The bell finally rang as I packed my stuff.

"Thanks for that." He said and scratched the back of his head.

I didn't ask him why he was all sleepy and went to the English Literature class with him. We entered and as soon as we took our seats he threw his head on the table and went to sleep, again!

I rolled my eyes at this as Mr Fitz entered the class.

"Happy Birthday!" He announced.

"Whose birthday is it?" A person I didn't know asked.

"Somebody's......Somewhere...." He answered and I laughed at his stupidity.

"So, before I start the lesson, I would like to ask someone something." He added and walked upto a sleeping Jake.

"WAAA" He screamed in Jake's ear as he sat up straight and gave him his best smile to cover up.

"Why's Jakey so sleepy?" He asked and Jake took a deep breath before answering.

"There was an owl outside my window last night that wouldn't stop hooting, like he was dying or something. I couldn't sleep because of that." He explained as the bimbos in the class giggled.

"Well, we certainly wouldn't want to keep you awake in class now would we?" Mr Fitz said sarcastically.

"Thanks dude, you're the best!" Jake said and put his head down on the table to continue sleeping.

We sat at our usual lunch table when the boys joined us. Jake was jumping and moving about like he was overcharged or something.

"Dude, your heart is literally vibrating! What did you do to yourself?" Mike asked while placing his hand on Jake's chest.

"Nothing." He answered still all hyper.

"How many cups of coffee have you drunk?" Nate asked.

"A lot. A lot like four cups, why is there a problem?" He answered at the speed of light, I swear.

"Why didn't you make the owl go away?" I asked as Jake placed three more large cups of coffee infront of him.

"I tried! The stupid thing won't go away!" He answered and I laughed.

"I'm not even gonna ask!" Rachel and Rebecca said in unison as they had no flipping idea about what was happening. 

An unsatisfactory and short chapter, I know but to make it up I will be uploading two more chapters for you guys today. Oh and I couldn't update recently because of serious writer's block....again!
