"Y/N." Zuko greeted, stopping you from walking down the hall any further.

"Prince Zuko."

"Here for Azula?"

"Like always." You nodded, tapping your foot impatiently. He took notice, but still tried holding the conversation.

"How have you been?" He spoke, offering you the best non-awkward smile he could muster.

"Uh, fine. Yourself?"

"As good as I can be."

"Oh. Well, I'm sure being the Prince of the Fire Nation can be stressful."

"It can be."

"Alright."

"Wanna hear a joke?"

"Um, sure?" You murmured, scratching the back of your head awkwardly.

"Um well...I forgot how it started. My uncle tells it better, I promise. Sorry, no one ever really gives their time of day to hear a joke or two from me."

"That's rough, buddy." You joked, though a tense silence washed over the two of you. Finally, the prince had realized you weren't trying to make fun of him, but instead joke around with him.

"Oh! You're joking around!?" He grinned, pointing both index fingers at you ecstatically.

"Yes!"

"Your parents allow you to walk to the Academy?" Zuko awed, the mere idea of it being insane. You leaned against his footframe, pulling harshly on the little strands of hair on his head, the prince slapped your hand away, murmuring a string of pained insults.

"Of course not! I sneak out."

"But, don't you ever get scolded afterwards?"

"All the time, that's why I'm never at home. If I did go home, I wouldn't hear the end of it!"

"What about when you need to change clothes, or take a shower, or eat?"

"Sneak in, sneak out. It's not that hard."

"So you barely see your parents?"

"A couple times a month. You know what we really should be discussing?" You started, your attempt at changing the subject not sly at all.

"What?"

"Your wack ass fade. Might as well go bald-oh wait, you already have."

"I didn't go completely bald."

"Oh right! You had that ugly patch."

"You're insulting the Prince of the Fire Nation!"

"You insult yourself everyday with that cut."

"Shut up!"
