54: What A Night

I was about to as well but I stopped myself. I put my finger on Daniel's lips and pushed him away. "Don't do this... You're better than that. It's one of the reasons I love you." He nodded in agreement. "You.. you love me?" I laughed a little. "Of course I love you. I never stopped loving you... you're my best friend remember?" He weakly smiled. "Oh.. right... I shouldn't have done.. that. My apologies." I smiled at him and nodded. "Don't worry about it." Our eyes locked again and the tension between us was more than ever. I felt his hands on my waist again. There was a brief silence before I put my hands on his forearms and pushed him away a little. I took a deep breath and both of our eyes widened a little. "I should uh.. I should..." I cleared my throat. "I should get going." We pulled away completely. He made a sad face. "Are you sure you have to go? It hasn't even been that long." "I know but I'm getting kinda tired and I'm starting to get a headache." He sympathetically smiled and nodded. "At least let me drive you home. I know you don't have a ride." I sighed. "Fine." I smiled at him. We walked downstairs and into the living room. "I think I'm gonna head home now." Kelly looked at me sadly. "Already?" I nodded and grabbed my sweater. "How are you getting home?" "Daniel's going to drop me." Kelly and Jack both smirked at me and Hailey raised her eyebrows. I gave them a 'shut up' look. "Jack and I will come home in a couple of hours okay?" I nodded and went towards the door. "Bye guys! Thank you for everything! Good luck!" "Bye!" They all shouted. Daniel opened the door for me and we left. We got in the car and the whole drive home we just talked and caught up with each other. He and the guys were working on a lot of new music and everything was going well at the studio. "Are you ready for the wedding?" "There's a date?!" I looked at him confused. "Yeah, stupid. It's in like two weeks." My eyes widened. "What?! No one told me!" We both laughed and I shook my head. "I guess I have to buy a dress then." "So you aren't going to wear one of the ten million dresses you already own?" I gave him an offended look and he started laughing. "Shut up. I can't wear an old dress to Xero's wedding." "Wait... she didn't give you a bridesmaid's dress?" I looked at him and gave him a bit of a sad face. "No... now that I think of it. She never even asked me to be her bridesmaid." He looked surprised. "Seriously?! That's messed up! I thought you guys were best friends?" "I thought so too. Apparently not." I looked down and he grabbed my hand. "Well, it's okay cause you have me! And obviously Jack, Kelly, and Hailey." I smiled and nodded. "Thank you." We looked at each other and smiled. He turned onto my street and I got a little sad. I didn't want this moment to end. "Looks like we're here." "Yeah.." I said more like a whisper. We both went to hug each other. Our faces almost collided but we both stopped ourselves. My face turned bright red and my eyes widened slightly. I sat back in my seat again and so did he. We both looked at each other and burst out into laughter. "Goodbye Daniel." "Bye." I opened the car door and walked out the happiest I've been in a while. He drove off and I walked inside the house. Within seconds I got a notification on my phone from Hailey.

I shook my head and laughed. I dialed her number and she immediately picked up. "BROOK?! ARE YOU HOME!? IS DANIEL THERE!?" My eyes widened a bit and I blinked slowly. "Yes.. I'm home and no. Daniel left as soon as we got here. "OKAY BITCH WE WANT DETAILS." "Kelly?" I said in a confused tone. "Oh yeah. Kelly and Jack are here too. We're upstairs hiding from everyone because WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED." "I need my Braniel." Jack said and I chuckled. "There is no....'Braniel' we're just friends." "Yeah sure. I've heard that before." "Hailey, shut up. He has a boyfriend." I exclaimed. "So did anything happen?" I paused for a second and thought of the moment we had earlier. It's like I could still feel him in front of me. "So something did happen." "Uhm.. yea.. we almost kissed... three times." I heard nothing but silence from the phone but it was very brief "WHAT?" "BROOK!" "OKAY, GET IT." "KELLY SHUT UP. WE DIDN'T ACTUALLY KISS. I would never kiss a taken man. You know that." I sighed. "Good job Brook. We're proud of you." I smiled. "Thanks, Jack...either way I'm definitely not ready for a relationship right now. It's the last thing I need." "You're right. That's very matu-" "GUYS WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG! I NEED YOUR HELP!" I heard Xero yell. "Sorry Brook we need to go." Kelly said. "Okay. Love you guys." "Love you too!" "Bye!" They hung up the phone and I laughed. I walked upstairs and flopped on my bed. What a night.
