This is it! The day my best friend Hailey and I move to L.A. is finally here! My name is Brook-lyn Davis. I'm 18 and pursuing my dream of becoming a singer. "Brook hurry up!" I hear my best friend yell from the bottom of the stairs. "Coming!" I yell back. I quickly grab my last to bags and run downstairs. "Oh so now you decided join me?" Hailey said jokingly. "Only because I'm excited to eat somewhere different" I nudge her shoulder and we both giggle. "Come on ladies" my mom said as she rolls her eyes and laughs at us.
The whole drive everyone was silent. Why wouldn't it be. My best friend and I were leaving Canada, the place we lived our entire lives. We didn't live in the city so I was super nervous to live in one for the first time. I was also excited because I was finally leaving the place thats caused me so much stress over the years. Its not that my parents were bad they just weren't the greatest. I looked over at Hailey to see how she was doing and I could tell she was equally as nervous and excited as I was. I grabbed her hand to calm her down as I know how anxious she gets. I looked at my mom and dad and I could already see the tears welling up in their eyes. For my mom it was normal, she cries over EVERYTHING so I knew it was coming. But not my dad. He never cries. EVER. I chose to ignore so he wouldn't feel embarrassed. What seemed like the longest drive ever came to an end. Without saying anything my dad popped the trunk where our bags were and we all got out knowing the tears that were about to come. We got in checked our bags and there we were. It was time to leave. I had already said goodbye to my boyfriend of three years the day before and we agreed to try long distance. We both loved eachother and we'll make sure to stay in touch. I looked at my gate and turned my head to my mom to see her already crying. I ran into her arms and started crying. "I love you mom.... thank you so much for everything.." I managed to get out between sobs. My mom and I got kinda close about two months ago so it was even harder to say goodbye then I thought it was gonna be. "I love you too honey.... please call me as soon as you land." "I will..." Now the hard part. My dad. He and I have always been super close. We made eye contact as I saw his eyes welling up with tears again. "Daddy!" I sobbed as I ran into his arms. We both couldn't hold in the tears anymore and hugged for about 3 minutes until we heard "Last call for flight 315 to Los Angeles" We both let go and he kissed my forehead. "Stay safe" he said trying to hold in his tears as he handed me my guitar. "I will" I opened my phone and texted my boyfriend that I was boarding the plane
