"What the fuck is Arvin doing here?!"

"I'm her boyfriend." He grabbed my hand and I looked down. "Seriously?" Jack looked at me with a little concern. I nodded. They both walked inside and said hi to my parents to be polite. Hailey pulled me to the side so we could talk away from everyone else. "Brook what the hell? Did you forget what he did to you?" She showed no hesitation. I was silent. "What happened?" "Well, a couple of months after I got here.. I went to the baseball diamond to clear my head as I did before. He happened to be there and we talked for hours. I didn't trust him at first but. He's different now. he said he changed." She took a deep breath and rolled her eyes. "I just don't want you getting your heart broken again.. You don't look happy Brook." She held both my hands and smiled sympathetically. "I can't be alone again.. I need him." She took a deep breath. "Fine... But if he hurts you again He's going to be walking with a limp for the rest of his life." My eyes widened a little. I shook my head and laughed. "Did you hear their new song?" She asked and I nodded. "You know it's about you.. right?" My eyes widened. "Seriously?" "Yeah.. He's been really upset lately." I didn't know what to say.

Jack's pov:

Hailey took Brook aside. Now's my chance. "What the hell are you doing?" "Excuse me?" "You better not hurt her." He looked at me and laughed a little. "I can't belie-" "No, your gonna listen to me and let me finish." I sounded angry and he shut right up. "You better not be using her. She is in a very vulnerable place. When you left her .. It absolutely ruined her. if you break her heart, you'll never break anything else. Ever. Again." Before he could say anything back Hailey and Brook came back. I was satisfied with myself.

Brook's pov:

Hailey and I came back into the room and Arvin looked like he just saw a ghost. We sat on the couch hugging each other. I missed her so much. "So what are you guys doing here?" I smiled at them." Hailey took a deep breath. "We came here to bring you back home." Before I could express my excitement my mom spoke. "What do you mean? Brook's supposed to stay here for another month at least. You're not leaving are you?" I shrugged. Without saying anything else my mom walked out of the room clearly annoyed. I hated when she got like that. "You think you can come back with us..?" Jack asked. I looked over at Arvin. He said he would come to L.A. with me when I left since long-distance didn't work. "Yeah.. I think that's a good idea." I smiled. Jack and Hailey did a little excited dance and I laughed. "I'm coming too" Arvin put his arm around me and I smiled awkwardly. "Fine." Jack said but Hailey looked pissed. "When do you think you'll be ready to leave?" "Tomorrow." Arvin looked at me like I was crazy. "Tomorrow?!" "I need to get home as soon as possible." He looked at me and smiled a bit. "Okay baby.." I weakly smile and he kissed me. I saw Jack gag a little from the corner of my eye and Hailey laughed. We talked for a while and caught up with each other. I'm so happy for Hailey. She finally found the one for her. The front door opened and my eyes went wide. "MOM?!" Hailey yelled. Shit. Shit. Shit. "You really think Brook's mom wouldn't tell me your here?" She laughed a little. "You're not supposed to be here. What do you want.." Hailey sounded annoyed. "I just came over to say hi. We never talk anymore." "Big surprise." She mumbled. "Who's this?" Hailey's mom looked over at Jack and shook his hand. "I'm Jack.. Hailey's boyfriend." I shook my head and so did Hailey. "Boyfriend?!" " Why can't you ever keep your mouth shut Jack I swea-"

Hailey's pov:

"Hailey you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend! How long have you two been together?!" She was being.. nice? This is new. "A year and a half." I smiled at Jack. "AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!?" "Sorry..." She laughed a little. We all sat in the living room and talked for a while. I thought my mom finally came around but I was wrong. She was being as mean as always. She kept throwing shade and putting me down. I could tell Jack was getting annoyed. Jack put his arm around me and I took a deep breath. I can't wait to get out of here. "How's work going?" It wasn't. I recently got fired and was looking for a new job. I didn't want to tell her because I knew how she would react. "It's going..." She shook her head. "I knew you would end up like this. I said moving to L.A. was a bad idea. Jack's probably with you just because he feels bad." My face changed. How could she say that? Without saying anything I got up and ran upstairs. I couldn't take her bullshit anymore. As I went up the stairs heard my mom mumble "Running away once again." I went into the bathroom and quickly locked the door. As soon as I looked at myself in the mirror I broke down into tears. I just have to remember why I'm here. For Brook. A few seconds later a heard knock at the door. "Hailey?" It was Brook. I opened the door hesitantly. She hugged me tightly. "Your mom is being a bitch as usual." I laughed a little. "I'm sorry you had to come here because of me.. I feel like this is my fault." "Brook shut up. It was my desision to come." We both took a deep breath at the same time.

Jack's pov:

I can't believe Hailey's mom right now. I could tell every word she was saying was getting to Hailey and it broke my heart. Hailey ran upstairs, Brook not far behind. "For the record, I love Hailey for Hailey. Not because I 'feel bad' for her. I even want to marry her someday. I can't live without her." I saw her mumble something to Brook's mom and we were all silent. Even Arvin. "JACK! ARVIN! GET UP HERE!" I heard Brook yell. We both walked upstairs. "Arvin pack your bags, we're leaving tonight."
