62: Friends With Benefits?

Brook's pov:

I know. No label? I'm stupid. I'm so stupid. But I'd rather have him a little than not at all. Plus sneaking around will remind me of before. When everything was okay and when we were in love and with each other. "You mean like, friends with benefits?" He asked. "Yeah, you could say that." I said and kissed him. God did I miss his fucking lips. "Let's do that then. But only if you're absolutely sure." He said putting his hand on my cheek and I smiled. "I'm sure." I said taking a deep breath. I put my head back in the crook of his neck and he held me tight. I can't believe we're doing this. Friends with benefits with Daniel? Holy shit.

Weeks pass, the time flies, and Daniel and I get closer and closer. Every chance we had we would hook up or make out and it was amazing. I just wish we were real. I wish we could go back to how we were in the beginning. During these weeks, Hailey's baby bump had started showing and she had her first ultrasound today. Of course, I wasn't going to miss it. We were in the waiting room in the hospital waiting to be called. I could tell Hailey was getting anxious. Hospitals scare her a lot and she hates them. She, Jack, and I were all silent from nervousness and excitement. We both grabbed Hailey's hands at the same time as we attempt to calm her and it worked a little. "This is so crazy. I can't believe you're having a baby." I said and she looked at me smiling. "I know. It feels so crazy to think about. I'm terrified. We're both so young and I have no idea how to do this mom thing." She said taking a deep breath and leaning back. Jack kissed the side of her head. "I know it's scary bubba. Trust me, I was terrified with Lavy. But I learned. And now look at how happy she makes me. We can do this, my love." He said and she put her head on his shoulder. "And the best part is. I'm going to help out, and help you learn too. It'll always be the three of us. We're in this together." I said and I put my hand on the one Jack was holding and they both smiled more. "I love you both so much." She said tearing up. "Damn hormones." She laughed and so did we. The nurse peeked her head on the waiting room entrance. "Hailey? We're ready for you." She said and walked out. The three of us stood up and went to the room. The doctor greeted us and Hailey laid on the bed. The doctor put the liquid on Hailey's tummy and she started using the machine to look for the baby. Jack stood next to Hailey and I stood behind him. We looked at the little screen and saw a little black and white figure. "I-is that it?" Jack asked as he crouched a bit. He held her hand as tears formed in both of their eyes. The doctor nodded and the three of us stared at the screen in awe. I walked a bit closer putting one of my hands on Jack's back and the other on Hailey's knee. The doctor moved the wand a bit more and we started to hear a little noise. It was in a pattern. "That's the baby's heartbeat." The doctor said and the three of us look at each other. "Oh.. oh wow.." Jack said his voice shaking, tears threatening to fall.

Jack's pov:

"I-is it supposed to be that fast? Is he/she okay??" Hailey asked with concern in her voice. "Her heart rate is completely normal. They look healthy and perfect." The doctor said and she took a sigh of relief. "That's our baby, my love." I put my forehead to hers as well as watched the screen and listened. It all seemed so real now. So perfect. This was so right and I can feel it. "I'm gonna give you two some space." Brook said and she walked out smiling. "I think it's gonna be a girl." I said and kissed her nose. "Oh really? Well I.. I think it's going to be a boy." She said and pecked my lips. "It's a bit too early to be able to tell what the gender is yet. But we'll be able to soon. When you're three months to be exact." The doctor said and he started cleaning up. "Thank you for everything." I said and Hailey got up. The doctor nodded and gave us the okay to leave as he left the room. Hailey gave me a long hug and we just stayed there and swayed for a little. "I'm so happy this is with you. I wouldn't want it any other way." She said and went on her tippy toes to hug me better. "Same here my angel. I'm so so happy." I said picking her up and she wrapped her legs around my waist. I pecked her lips and she pulled me in for another kiss. We kept going and started making out. I put her against the wall and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Baby... we're in a hospital and the doors wide open.. We can't." She said in between kisses. "Why not. We can risk it." She laughed a bit and put her finger on my lip to stop me from kissing her and I groaned. "Let's go home first. Plus Brook is waiting for us out there and we shouldn't make her wait. I promise when we go home.. We can have fun." She whispered the last part in my ear and I got chills down my spine. "Fine." I said and kissed her ear and her jaw. "Now let's go. I don't like waiting." I said putting her down and she smirked. She grabbed me and pulled me out of the room and there sat Brook, waiting for us.
