60: Blessing

Jack's pov:

Both of us smiling uncontrollably, we walked out of the bathroom. Before we could even get a foot out of the door, Brook grabbed both of our arms out of nowhere and pulled us right back in. "Holy shit holy shit holy shit." She repeated and closed the door. "Holy shit holy shit..." She kept going. "BROOK. HELLO. CALM DOWN." I said and Hailey laughed. "Brook what's going on? Is everything okay?" She said smiling and shaking her head. Brook looked up at us, her eyes wide. She leaned her back against the bathroom door. "Daniel and I just hooked up." I roll my eyes playfully and Hailey puts her face in her hands. "Oh God not this again-" I tease and shake my head. "YEAH, HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL?!" She said, clearly freaking out. "Okay. Calm down." Hailey said, rubbing her shoulder. "How am I supposed to calm down! I just hooked up with Daniel!" She said yelling. "I don't think the whole church wanted to know-" I said and Hailey playfully nudged me. "Well was it good?" She said. "It was Daniel. Of course, it was good." I made a bit of a disgusted face. "Well did it mean anything?" I asked and her face changed from shocked to disappointed. She looked down again. "Not to him, it didn't." I feel anger inside me as I get the sudden urge to punch my bandmate. "What? What do you mean? Do I need to beat him up?" I said and Hailey put her arm around my waist and rubbed it with her thumb, attempting to calm me down a bit. "No. You don't need to do anything. I thought it meant something but I guess not. His exact words were 'This was just two strangers letting out their emotions. This means nothing, okay?'." I slowly blinked in anger and Haileys face softened. "Oh my God. I'm so sorry Brook." She said. "What hurts the most is that it meant so much to me. Of course, it did. It was passionate. Sexy. Like we never stopped. It was. Him." Brook sighed and stood up properly. "Anyway enough of my high school teen drama or whatever. Did you.." She raised her eyebrows and widened her eyes signaling at Hailey. She put her hand on her tummy and smiled. "Yeah. I did. I was worried about nothing." She said and Brook smiled. "I told you. I knew he would be excited." She said and shook her head. "Oh shut up," Hailey said, pushing Brook's shoulder playfully. "Okay, we can leave now. I'm sorry for.. Aggressively dragging you back into the bathroom-" Brook said and laughed. We left the bathroom and finished cleaning up the church.

3 weeks later...

Brook's pov:

Hailey had a check-up today and Jack was going with her. "You guys are sure you don't need me for this one, right?" I said, watching them get ready to go. "Yeah don't worry. You were there for the first 2 and this one will just be the same. If anything serious happens we'll call you." Hailey said giving me a hug. I rub her tummy a bit and smile. Jack and Hailey go about to walk out of the door but Jack stops. "Hold on love I think I forgot something. I'll meet you in the car." He said kissing her head. "Don't be too long or I'm leaving you here." She said and walked out. My eyes widened a bit and I finished tidying up the kitchen. "Someone's hormones are kicking in." I say and Jack laughs. "So what did you forget?" I ask sitting down on the couch getting ready to relax. "I didn't really forget anything, I wanted to. Um. Ask you a question." I turned to him and give him my full attention. "Ask away bubs. But uh. Don't be too long. We don't want her to drive away-" He laughed a bit and sat next to me. Without saying anything, he pulled out a little black box from his pocket to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. "Bubby I'm.. I'm flattered but you're dating my best frie-" "IT'S NOT FOR YOU DORK." He yells and laughs "Oh. OH MY GOD." I yell and cover my mouth. "I know.. but before I asked her. I wanted to ask for your blessing." My face softened "Me? Why me?" I said looking up at him. "Because you're her best friend, bubby. You're the first one who actually really cared for her and made her happy. You took her in and sheltered her when she needed you so I feel it's only right." I got emotional and jumped into his arms "That means so fucking much Jackie bear. You have no idea." I said and he hugged me tighter. "So. I'm assuming I have your blessing." "Yes yes of course you do. Please marry the girl she's only been wanting it for the past 2 months-" we pulled away from the hug smiling and I wiped my tears. "I've had the ring for about 5 months." I smile. "Well, you should've said something sooner. But anyway what matters is that you're getting married!!" I squealed. "I don't even know if she's going to say yes. I know she's been wanting this for a few months yes but. What if she doesn't want it anymore." He said and I shook my head. "Trust me. She wants it. It's almost all I hear about. Plus she's having your baby dude. There's no question." He nodded and smiled in excitement to marry the love of his life. "So how are you gonna ask her?" "Well since she's always wanted to go to Disney World. I'm going to take her there and..." He trails off as he tells me all of the details for his big proposal. He left minutes later and I watched them. As they drove off I saw Hailey clearly annoyed at Jack for being so long and I laughed a little. If only she knew. Minutes pass as I just watch TV and sit in my own boredom. I stare at the door hoping someone comes knocking and I shake my head. That's ridiculous. No one's just going to show up. I'm going to go out and maybe get a bite to eat. Might as well. I'm not just going to sit here and let myself be bored all day. I go upstairs and change my clothes. I put on light make up and as I go to walk out, there's a knock on the door...
