After a while of admiring the sunset outside of the airplane window I dozed off. I was super tired from packing the night before and all the crying was exhausting so I wasn't surprised when I woke up and we had already landed. I got up stretched my legs and we were out of the plane. As soon as Hailey and I got off we both immediately called our parents so they wouldn't worry and maybe because we missed them. A little. After we said our goodbyes over the phone I called Arvin and hailey called her online friend xero to tell her what was happening. They never really got into detail on where each of them lived for personal safety. I always said they should meet up because they had been friends for 2 years but they never really got to it. I dialed Arvins number and after a few rings he picked up.
"Hiiiii"
"Hiii I just wanted to let you know we just got off the plane"
"Oh ok, how was the flight?"
"I wouldn't know I pretty much Immediately fell asleep haha."
"I don't blame you, you seemed Pretty exhausted yesterday."
"I was"
"Well anyway, I love you"
"Love you to! We'll talk soon k? "
"Of course"
"Bye baby"
"Buh bye"
Huh that was weird. Arvin seemed a bit off. Our conversations usually flow so easily. It's probably nothing. I brush it off and wait for hailey to get off the phone to call an uber. After we both got off the phone I called one to take us to the beach house we bought together. We had a decent amount of money because we both got jobs when we were 15 and have been saving all of our money ever since. I also had some extra cash from my music career. I wasn't crazy famous but I had a good amount of fans.
After we got to the house we were both exhausted. We both took out the air mattresses we brought, blew them up and and fell asleep immediately.

I wake up to my mattress being deflated and my body half on the cold floor. Too excited to be angry, I laugh it off and open my phone to check the photo I posted yesterday because hailey's still sleeping. After scrolling for a little while I get up and brush my teeth and change. I come out of the bathroom and see hailey just starting to wake up on her perfectly inflated mattress. "Get up sleepy head we gotta go buy furniture..... or at least actual mattresses." I say looking at my sad deflated mattress. "Ughhhh" she said as she sleepily got up. "What are we eating" she said walking over to me. "Unless you bought anything last night, we're eating air." She looked at me with the most sad eyes I've seen in my entire life. "OKAY!!! I'll postmates some food....jeez" I said and a bright smile formed on her face. "Thank god" She said.
After we ate we went to Ikea to buy some furniture. We bought beds, sofas, a TV, basically everything we needed. We hired movers to bring everything over and by the end of the night everything was at our place.
I was feeling a little stressed and I had some ideas for a new song so I went to to beach to clear my head and I brought my guitar along with me. There's no one at the beach except for a group of people who were laughing and having fun.
I started strumming and humming a melody after I hit record on voice memos.
"We belong together" I quietly sing. I hum the next few words and continue with "and blood shot eyes, think were both fucked up and that's alright, we belong together" I smile satisfied with what I've come up with today.
"Did you just come up with that?!" I turn around to see a tall man eyes as deep as the ocean and blond hair with dark roots. "Uh.. yeah I did." I said suddenly regretting not putting on makeup. "That was beautiful." He said which made me blush.
No you have a boyfriend. Stop.
"Th- thank you.... I'm Brook-lyn" I say trying to make a new friend "Daniel, Daniel Seavey." something about that name sounded incredibly familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. "Do you mind if I give you some advice?" He said looking worried that I would get offended. "No not at all!" I said with a bright smile. "If you change the G chord to a C it'll flow better.... here lemme show you." He put his hands on mine and showed me. "Huh. Your right!" I say a little embarrassed I didn't come up with it first. "Thank you so much." "Don't worry about it!" He said smiling. He had this adorable tooth gap that made his smile contagious. "Say do you mind trading numbers? I just moved here and I would love to make a new friend." I say with hope. "Yes of course!" I gave him my phone so he could put his number in and he did the same. "I should get going but we'll talk soon." I tell him while getting up. "See ya!" He said with a big smile
