Hi. My name is Emmet. I am an alter in the Space Raiders system. We have dissociative identity disorder, also known as DID. The username for this account was our host's name, but since we all use it we changed it.

My role within the system is emotional protector, I keep hold a lot of the emotions that others, especially Sam (our host), can't handle. Because of this, I can come off as mean or angry. And whilst I'm not mean, I am most certainly angry. What happened to us as a child is not okay, so I feel like I have every right to be bitter about it.

I won't go into detail about our trauma, as not everyone knows everything (that is the nature of DID). I usually stay in the inner world, but I do front when required. I am fronting currently because a little (a child alter) was having flashbacks, and even after Sam took control again, he couldn't deal with the physical after affects of that.

This story was started by Sam, but not all chapters are written by him. It is difficult to write as we have memory loss and fragmented memories. We do not know all of our headmates at this time, and we're not sure if we want to. Having this disorder is crippling, but that does not mean we can't thrive. Learning about the others has completely changed our way of life, and that is scary.

Furthermore, we have been suffering from chronic pain and have had to buy a walking stick because of it. It leaves us exhausted most days, and some days we have cried because of it. It's been extremely difficult to overcome our abuse and actually get the help we need - so much so that a lot of other aspects in our life have been put on hold, such as this book.

Until we are in a stable enough condition, it is unlikely that this story will be updated. I know that we have been saying that for a while, but remember that recovery doesn't have a set timeline, nor is it linear.
